I understand that Gordon has skills. But I just don't respect people who used steroids to get where they are.

I understand being against steroids as they are literally performance enhancers. But you also have to consider his delima. He wanted to add muscle so he could go against the biggest and best. However if he did it naturally then he would constantly be dealing with muscle and joint soreness from high volume weight lifting to build muscle. This would drastically reduce how much he could train bjj or it would increase his injury risk. So his solution was steroids. I'm not saying it was the right choice but when you consider his options it makes a lot of sense.

@@Jonathanwebb100 The bigger issue is the amount of other athletes doping and believing the only way to be successful is to join them. Granted , I get why an athlete would feel that way because we all know PED’s work 😀. So, could he still be as dominate with out them hard -to say? I think, you can argue he seems to have the best tactical understanding if jiu- jitsu. and his skill is top notch. But could folks with less skill beat him because of the physical advantage ? Especially, if you know the physical advantage comes from PED’s? I would like to see them clean up the sport but I don’t see it happening. You’re argument, for for reason behind his use of PED’s in terms of strength training is flawed. Strength training “naturally” does not lead to joint point , soreness … etc. those issues are far more influenced by how you train. Juice gives a huge advantage in recovery - but you can end up with the same negatives you mentioned because of poor training practices - juice or no juice

@@kevincox9279 I agree with most of what you're saying but while you may end up with the same issues as you mentioned recovery is much faster. So less time missing training. But I agree. I truely wish it were a clean sport especially since I compete in the Master category where a ton of dude are starting to take steroids.

If everyone is using PEDs (himself included), and he still manages to beat everybody, it's not the PED who got him where he is.
