You might have the solo buttons or AFL buttons engaged. To the left of the screen there is a PFL/AFL light, make sure that is not lit.if it is lit go through all the channels and make sure the solo buttons are up and the FX AFL button is up and the Aux 1 and 2 AFL buttons are up. Then go the channels you want to hear and press the Main buttons down and turn up the channels. Below the headphone knobs make sure the buttons are up so that the headphones are fed form the main.

If you turn down the Main fader that will affect the signal to the headphones. If your speakers are connected to the Main outs than there is not a way around that. @TASCAMUSA7 ай бұрын
Hello! At the bottom of each channel strip on the mixer are a few buttons for basic routing. MAIN will send the audio to the main output, while SUB will send the audio to the sub output. The headphones monitor from the MAIN, but you can still use SUB as long as the MAIN routing button is engaged on the Master channel. Above the SUB and FX faders are the headphone volume controls and their respective routing - either AUX or MAIN. I'd suggest switching this over to MAIN. Now, add all that together and you'll be set to go!

I’m sorry to have to note that there is one major flaw with this mixer. You cannot listen to the either headphone mix unless the main faders are up.
@obshaky3 жыл бұрын
My old Yamaha MG102c works the same. Main out and headphones in Model 12 and 16 share the same amp/internal connection but Model 24 has dedicated amps/internal connections so it works as expected. You can also use the SUB for the headphones in the Model 12/16 and it works as expected but I would've appreciate a more clear approach to this by labeling the SUB as a real alternative to this issue. The only way to work this out, if not using SUB, is to level the volume in the monitor speaker itself really low so when you monitor thru headphones you get decent volume when turning up the main fader volume. For example, if I ant to produce late at night, the main volume is at a 2 which sends decent volume to headphones while the sound from monitors is really low... CAUTION! If you forget to turn down headphone volume and crank up monitor volume you can damage the headphones!

I have the same question for the Model 12. It looks to me that I could use the Sub outs for my headphones. Then, I'd press the Sub button (next to each channel fader) for every active input channel and press the Main button on every active input channel except the channel I don't want to send to the main mix. That should direct all active inputs to the Sub outs and headphones, and exclude from the main mix the one channel I don't want to hear in the main mix. Is that want you mean? When using the Model 16 as a mixer, how is it possible to monitor the Main L/R bus in stereo? No combination of button pushes seems to enable the pan pots on mixer channels...
@TASCAMUSA Жыл бұрын
Hello! So, if you're using the Model 16 as a USB audio interface, you should be able to monitor the main L/R bus from your DAW without much fuss. When switching the channels, channel 1/2 will be your return from your DAW - so, these are your channels that you'll be able to monitor the overall return from your recording software. You may need to pan channel one hard left and channel two hard right to get the stereo image that you're going for.
