Thank you Matt and Scott for sharing your experiences. I feel that I can relate 100% to everything you talked about. I am now experiencing the effects of trauma and trying to work through it. Unfortunately I have not been able to find a suitable therapist who can guide me but I am still searching.

It took me many years to find a good system of modality and people to heal my trauma. Still working at it actually. You are not alone and keep moving forward and the exact people and experiences you need to heal will show up when they are needed. Sending love to you on your healing journey ❤ ~Matt

Very important topic! But it could have been discussed in a bit more general way. What is general advice for people who think they might have CPTSD.? Which doctor should I see? Is somatic experiencing suitable for beginning the treatment of CPTSD? I assume it can be re-traumatizing if not done properly and talk therapy might be a more suitable first step... What could be first aid interventions that can be done by yourself (regular calming exercises, meditation, movement, etc.) The personal stories are interesting, but it left me wondering how to start and what to do.

Anyone else deal with male rage and queer meekness working hand-in-hand. Please don’t get mad I said it like that. I just don’t know how else to describe my masculine upbringing with my queer trauma.

Add on: I’m describing the impotent feeling of not being able to fight back, despite the fact your mind has made a fist. It’s like flight and fight mixed together.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It's valid to explore and express how different aspects of identity and upbringing intersect, even if it's challenging to articulate. Your honesty opens up important conversations. Take care. 🌈
