We carry around pain from the past like scar tissue that limits our mobility and flexibility in the present. Healing the Inner Child meditation practices are a way to open up those old wounds and work on healing them, to melt away that scar tissue so you can move freely through your life again. In this guided meditation practice, we'll explore experiences from the past when we felt hated, rejected, and disliked.

I wish people (humans) were sent to a proper guided school once they turn 2. That's how the world will change gradually. If our children are educated - not only mentally, but physically, emotionally and spiritually too - the world will see the brightest light. 🌞

It's unbelievable how much we can be hurt as childs and be affected all our life.. even if we say "I'm over that.." it's still there, buried deeply inside! Cried and laugh doing this.. I'd like to able to go back in time and give advise to myself! Tell myself that everything will be ok!

Probably the most intense meditation session I've done thus far...so difficult...I cried and shivered...but also so necessary...

I did this today and it brought back a memory I forgot about. Buried in my subconscious. I touched it, I worked with it and healing has happened. I cried during the process BUT I'M SMILING NOW... thank you Mark, truly

I did this a few times because of negative experience with my stutter Today I had a video call lesson where we had to discuss our work and I stuttered so much. Blocking on every word. When the call was over, the negative thoughts came up and I engaged with them for a little bit, insulting myself, but then I gave myself an imaginary hug and I felt fine about it :)

hey mark, this is shawn. you have saved my life i have watched your videos for years now and you always bring comfort when my anxiety is out of control.. didn't know if this is the right place to contact you but if you are still offering coaching/therapy for dealing with everyday anxiety/ocd i would love to pay you (maybe like skype sessions or any online video chat u prefer once or twice a month maybe..? or even just chatting in some instant message platform.. whatever it takes) out of all the people i have talked to you bring me the most hope. right now i am dealing with tremendous social anxiety in the workplace... but i have had a loooong history of typical ocd "themes" that i have delt with.. everyday is hell.

Thanks, Shawn. Sorry to hear about the struggles at work right now. I do work with people but I'm traveling for workshops at the moment. If you send me a message through the contact form on my website: markfreeman.ca I can respond over email and explain more about different options.

Hmm it works but I kept feeling this resistance of not wanting to change the memory because I dont want to forget/forgive what people did to me. What can I do with this?
@everybodyhasabrain
@everybodyhasabrain 4 жыл бұрын
The meditation audio track is just there. It doesn't "work". You work. The guide only creates a platform that you can use to work on things that are difficult. It's great you're noticing that resistance and understanding it. Now you can get to work on it :)

I prepared myself for intense emotions since I deal with mental challenges, but didn't feel much during this meditation. Does this necessarily mean I 'm resisting and blocking the pain, or can it just be that I have processed these events?
@everybodyhasabrain
@everybodyhasabrain 5 жыл бұрын
The presence or absence of feelings doesn't have to mean anything. This exercise is a very practical one for developing flexibility in our lives. If you're doing all of the things you want to be doing in life, then just like people that are very flexible, it would not cause any strain to do put their legs behind their heads. There are also many things we can push into with a HtIC meditation. You may not struggle with some pain about being hated, but perhaps there are some other events that cause issues. If so, then you can just adapt the topic of the exercise to those areas where you find difficulty.

@@everybodyhasabrain So I have to deal with intrusive thoughts for the past 3 years and they have gotten worse recently. To the point that it makes me question everything like "if I in reality" or "Am I insane" I have been watching your videos about not really reacting to the thoughts. However, I feel like I have to no choice but to focus on those thoughts and avoid things. So I wondering is constantly thinking about these thoughts is like some sort of compulsion and what should I do to get rid of it?

@@everybodyhasabrain Just wondering one more thing can you do ERP and ACT work on these types of thoughts?
@everybodyhasabrain
@everybodyhasabrain 5 жыл бұрын
@@freedomgirl1542 It can really help to shift the focus to the compulsions. The thoughts are just thoughts. What you'd be working on with ERP or ACT is cutting out the compulsions you're engaging around experiences like thoughts or feelings. The compulsions are the thing to work on, not the experiences like thoughts.
