I'm 53 and had a suger craving for years and years, I ate chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner, it was BAD, I have been tired most of my life too, so 5 years ago I cut the chocolate out completely, it was hard because the first few weeks all I could think about WAS eating chocolate, but I stayed strong, I now have so much more energy and life in me, no longer feel tired, can look at chocolate and don't want it anymore! Too much suger is evil and bad for your health, I'm proof, no chocolate works! :)

No ads at all till the end. Hubby is on a diabetic diet No bread, biscuits, cakes, puddings or beer. He has ham and eggs every morning 3 slices and 3 eggs ( our hens) lunch is cold chicken and salad and fruit, chocolate pudding made with just cocoa and whipped cream. Evening is meat or fish and veggies or salad ,few spuds ,very few. He has more energy ,lost weight, reduced his blood sugar from 19.5 to 5.5 and in in a better mood. Yes I’m not kidding ! Try it , grow some salad crops that you like and add veggies to your huge meat meals. Better for you and more energy as well.

I've lost a LOT of weight and have tried many different diets, and the best for overall weight loss for me, is a lo carb type (beef, chicken, fish etc) with salad/veg (green veg especially). Yes, sugar is an issue, and a good tip I was given is if you plan of having it, then store the occasion up to have the hit rather than having some every day. The biggest tip is drinking a couple of litres of water every day. As regards vitamins, don't forget vitamin B12 which helps keep you blood and nerve cells healthy.

sugar is definitely a culprit. and when you cut it out it takes a while to see improvements because too much sugar promotes all the wrong bacteria in the gut, and it takes a while for them to die off when you cut off the sugar intake. several weeks to a month. also, you may have low stomach acid, which is very common as we get older. this means food is not getting digested properly. the easy and immediate things to do for that are, don't drink anything even water with your meal. this dilutes the stomach acid. wait for an hour. secondly, really concentrate on chewing thoroughly before swallowing, much longer than you think normal. the stomach then doesn't have to work as hard.

Yes saw ads but not an obnoxious amount. You could have developed food allergies. Personally, I suddenly developed a severe tomato allergy at 47 with large raised hives. Very attractive lol. Dr advised me to clear out toxins by eating only lamb and brown rice and drinking a lot of water. Then a week or so later, when I was feeling better, to reintroduce one food at a time. After determining that tomato’s were the culprit, i stay away from all the nightshade vegetables. Also read labels religiously and question wait staff thoroughly about ingredients. A few slip ups but generally it has gone well. Wishing you the best on your food journey.

My son recently discovered he is allergic to an enzyme in red meat, we cut beef, pork etc out of his diet and he is going really good now. He can still eat chicken, and we use lentils and plant based products. Even if that is not your problem I really cannot see how all that meat and fat is really good for your gut! You need a bit of fibre/roughage to keep the digestive system healthy. Good sources are whole grains, whole fruits and vegetables, legumes, and nuts, you need about 25 to 35 grams a day. Sugar is ok in moderation, do not add it to your cooking etc. and keep an eye on how much is in anything you buy, give things with high amounts of sugar in it a miss.

I did what could be called Paleo Diet. So just ate meat, fish, fruit, veg, berries, seeds and nuts. Completely stopped eating all sugar or processed carbs, didn't even eat potatoes or bananas. I didn't need to lose weight, just did it to be healthier. I felt amazingly good, -- night and day better. Eating sugar would scupper it, I think -- something to do with blood sugar regulation. The other thing that drastically made me feel better was supplementing with magnesium. The thing with that way of eating is, or it was the way I did it, expensive. Also, drinking more water can have a huge effect on quality of sleep and energy levels.

Today I decided to just look around and not work.....well, I ended up digging again, straightened edges and planted out new peonies. I am not complaining, I love it, agony and all. (I am only sweet 70!!!) Do you ever have a good medical check with routine bloods? Maybe a good idea? (Ex nurse) I am a firm believer in a good balanced diet of meat, vegetables and salads. My daughter has issues with potato starch as well (gets stomach aches), but we found that if we cut the raw potatoes into smaller bits, soak them for about 20 minutes in cold water a couple of times, most of the starch comes out, and she has no issues with eating them after boiling. My own stomach functions best with a daily dose of cabbage in some form, either as salad or cooked (amazing how many different ways to make dishes with cabbage). Are you by any chance allergic to certain types of pollen? Read on the national allergy website recently that some people can have "cross-allergies" where their pollen allergy is causing certain foods to trigger food allergies in them. Pretty interesting article, but unfortunately in Danish :-) (no thumps, I hate snakes, hehe)

I saw one ad. It was fine. I expect ads on KZbin now. I want the people I watch to earn money so I do not install ad blockers Before you go on the carnivore diet you might want to be have blood tests to be sure your kidneys are in good shape. My sister and mother have to watch the amount of protein they consume because too much protein is bad for people with chronic kidney disease which they both have. My sister was told not to go on the carnivore diet due to it being so high in protein which would harm her kidneys further she also has to limit potassium rich and sodium rich foods. Pins and needles can be a sign of neuropathy which is often associated with diabetes. I always have to be checked for diabetes, thyroid disease and kidney disease because they are so so prevelant in my mom's family and were in my dad's too. I think a thorough blood test would be a great place to start to know what diet would be best for your health. Before my sister knew she had chronic kidney disease she was on the Adkins diet for a few years which evidently didn't help her poor kidneys at all.

Hi Marc I agree with others... a blood test and an allergy test. I don't even have an aspirin in my house, and I have never taken a Tylenol. My doctor told me I have the heart of a 20yr.old...too bad I don't look like one! I have not eaten red meat... cow, lamb, pig in over 5 decades. Some organic chicken and wild fish...no farm raised. Last 10 yrs dairy free...before I was the Dairy Queen (name of soft serve ice cream). Minimum processed foods. Salad every day for lunch w lots of different veggies & fresh herbs and some protein and fresh or homemade bread. Dinner... green veggies and occasional other veggies maybe some pasta or quinoa and a small piece of some protein or veggie burger or tofu. Legumes are also part of my diet. Very little sugar.. and dessert must be good quality . if I have a cookie, I always have some nuts w it and/or dried fruit. I eat 2 meals a day only because I am not hungry until lunch. I eat too late 9pm ... usually sleep 6-7hrs. You might check out the Blue Zones...5 places in the world where there is the highest rate of centenarians and see what they have in common re : food and lifestyle. I think the border of the tall grass looks more interesting than all mowed and supports many organisms. Your gifted hydrangea probably needs extra water because of its new location. If you see any woody dead stems, they need to be removed...it could even be a third of the plant, but that is common. Also hydrangea are acid loving plants so if you have any of that kind of fertilizer it would benefit. Happy to see you are giving some plants more space to grow. Hope you feel better and have more energy.

Sugar is bad for sure but arteries hardening points to high cholesterol being the culprit. I don't want to take statins so recently researched the best cholesterol busting foods. So porridge for breakfast, raw almonds as a snack with dealcholised red wine. Dark green veggies, apple a day etc. I am a vegetarian but do eat eggs (good B12). If I were you I would stick to eggs, leaner meats, and lots of vegetables. Try sweet potatoes too. Check the saturated fat levels on packets it can be a shocker. Fats are good such as those found in Avocados but saturated and trans fats should be limited. Men no more than 30g a day women 20g. You are perfectly placed to grow your own, rhubarb, raspberries, black currants, gooseberries etc. I use a little honey if I cannot live without sweet flavour. I agree with the previous poster the carnivore diet alone isn't going to be good long term. Balanced whole unprocessed foods are best.

You must look after yourself, I used to be them way as you regard vitamins etc, along as we have a varied and healthy diet, and I've also been lucky enough never to have needed to diet as I've always been active, gardening and my main passion just walking out in the countryside, I used to walk about 2hours adoy in the good weather around an hour in bad, always having dogs and living at the foot of the South downs just inland a few miles from Newhaven in a town called Lewes. But after a bad car rash in 2010 left in a wheel chair for best part of a year, then on and off for a couple more I did inevitably put on weight, and imdidnt realise I was also comfort eating. But once I realised I basi4 just too, hold of myself and forced myself to walk with crutches, it wasent easy and took 3years to finally be able to walk unaided, but during that time I didn't go on any fad diets, I just cut the quantity I was eating and the sweets etc I still had a small pudding every day still do,but I went from 8st pre accident to 13st, I'm now back to 8st. Just by cutting out ,not giving up as I think that's why so many fail ,when dieting they give up what they really like. I'm like you I don't drink ( well odd G&T) and I've never smoked which I think is a big plus. But regarding vitamins, I'm not a massive meat lover I'm not a vegetarian, I just don't eat alot of meat, which has now made me(according to my yearly blood test) low in B12 which I'm seeing someone next week about, and as you said in this video is an important vitamin. And your probably lying right about the tomatoes, and the spraying they do nowadays , and so much veg is mass produced I don't think there is the goodness there used to be, so I now buy from a local farm shop, not super market and the difference is amazing not only in taste but last much longer. So what you don't grow yourself try and find a local farm and buy direct. But maybe a routine blood test will tell you what if anything you lacking. Also the only supplement /vitamin I take atm is collagen, no it's not just for us vain people, it's very important for almost everything in our body, bones muscle, enery, you name it, and from as young as 30 we start to loose it and not reproduce, so I started that over a year ago and have noticed a difference in many ways, marine collagen is what you want, and you don't have to spend a fortune mine is about £10 a month. Have a great week take care don't over do it in the heat either, drink plenty, see you next time.❤

Don't overload on sugar - it does something awful to the gut as you get older, and metabolism slows down. I can't eat bread now without having real issues. I'm on a bread free diet and it seems to be working much better for me - getting my sugar from natural fruit n veg too. My gut might heal itself now, but who knows, it might well be permanent damage. Based on my health journey, I agree. Blood panels will identify if you are out of balance. Could be many things. Find out, for your peace of mind. It is NOT a scam by doctors, just facts. Your body is trying to tell you something. Do something. Be proactive. My tests screamed at me. Now I have a different relation to sugar/carbohydrates. I know, now, I can live much healthier with little or no bread, cakes, cookies, potatoes, pasta , rice and candy. I have more energy and the subsequent blood panels show the difference. I did this without medication. I look better, I don't eat the massive amounts of protein that Laura does but I do eat more than I did in the past. As we age, protein is especially important for our muscles. Stay strong, Marc.

2 ads! My son is selling a standing mower on commission. I had never heard of standing mowers before! Might be an option to look into as well. I have been "doing" nutrition/diets since I was 18 (not that anyone could tell). The key is to eat a balanced diet, which is, IMO, the hardest habit to implement. For example, carbs are required, but 2 servings/day should suffice most people. That equals 2 slices of bread. How many people can manage that? Doesn't seem like enough, does it? A carnivore meal is fine. No to a prolonged carnivore diet. Might work, for some in the short run, but doesn't serve anyone well long-term. And yes, cut back on the sugar as much as possible, but not to the point you actually are stressed about feeling deprived. Most people do best, sticking to a diet (foods you eat, not weight loss) that doesn't change. Eat the same things over and over. Doesn't have to be (too) boring. You can work out a monthly meal plan to include variety.

I'm with you as far as the medical 'industry' is concerned however.......... self diagnosing can be dangerous so with your current rate of weight loss and gut issues please get checked to rule out any problems. A carnivore diet while possibly helpful, mainly for weight loss (which you don't need), can significantly contribute to heart disease which you also don't need. Once you know your results you can address any problems with a targeted plan rather than just randomly trying different diets and eliminating food groups which you may actually need. Good luck and hope you find a healthy way to up your energy levels. Cheers
@thisorthat76267 ай бұрын
@terridoyle8056, it is not true that the carnivore diet can significantly contribute to heart disease. It has been shown that most people do a lot better on the carnivore diet even if their blood work seems "higher" than normal. Most people do not get enough protein, too many carbs and not enough healthy fats. Cheers.

I didn't get on with the carnivore diet (which is basically the Atkins Diet as far as I can see.). It made me feel sick. If you want to go down that road then knock yourself out and see how it works for you. Personally I don't think it's healthy. Robert c Atkins who started the trend incidentally had a cardiac arrest in 2002 which was not a good advertisement for a diet high in saturated fat. You might be better off getting tested for food sensitivities generally as a starting point. The only diet I have tried that I would recommend is the Matt Roberts fat loss plan which is based on low glycemic foods. If you followed that for a period it would break your sugar reliance for sure (as long as you laid off the white chocolate). You are more active physically than most people, so wouldn't need to do the exercise part of the programme I don't think. Oh, only ads were at the beginning of the video.

You appear to be an anxious person, due to problems with finances, house etc. And that often triggers digestive problems too. Could weight loss be due to the fact that you are more mobile in France, working outdoors and never still it appears...you said you have difficulty resting. Think would take advice re meat only diet, keto isn't for everyone and can have an adverse effect on your cholesterol if you are predisposed. Try slotting in some time in a day when you sit down, do something that relaxes you, sit in the sun, listen to the birds or music. Hope it's only a temporary issue but if it continues I really think you should discuss it with a doctor.

Trust me going carnavour has made such a massive difference to me but you will need to do it for at least 30 days to feel the difference mabe less, but you certainly will feel better as the sugger you are consuming is doing you no good whatsoever. Good luck. Oh look up no carb life on KZbin.

I wrote this once but lost it mark I lived in Sicily and some old people still work the land in there nineties they live of what they grow I learned to eat well from there I have never eaten meat ever but I have blood cancer now and it surely wasn’t as a result of my diet but I I don’t feel ill with it I try to be positive that’s all I can do mark just have every day pure olive oil one large spoon of it but cheap olive oil is no good you must buy the best that diet you are talking about is the old Atkinson diet and it makes you have smelly breath so don’t go kissing any girls you will loose a lot of weight with this diet I am sending you £50 to start a fund for your sit on mower I haven’t been to town for over a week but will send it when I get there

Hi, I've been on the carnivore diet for over 8 months now, I needed to kiss weight as I've had a heart attack, and I have osteoarthritis, since being on this diet I've lost 5.6 stone so far and my arthritis is so much better There are several versions you can follow, the most extreme is Lion - beef, salt and water only, dirty water you eat a few very low calorie veg with your meat or keto carnivore, check out Doc Berry on youtube, saw my GP.last week and my heart is doing better and he's also doing carnivore

How many calories are you taking in and how many are you burning mowing all that land??? It’s no wonder you are losing weight and lethargic. A car breaks down if you dont put enough fuel in and body is the same. I’ve had a personal trainer for 5 weeks and I’m instructed to eat every 4 hours with calorie intake 3700 minimum. 52 years old and more energy than I’ve had in years. Plenty of greens, broccoli, cabbage, spinach and good balance. I too have a sweet tooth so mars bars in moderation is cool….. but swerve the ‘Carnivore/Atkins diet’ as this will make you ill

The carnivore diet works for me, heaps of energy, and other benefits. Initial adjustments as the gut becomes used to it, which is a little anti-social 😂 Highly recommend Phil Escott on you tube, who discovered myriad improvements to his health, after being a vegan for a number of years.
