My experience in a private hospital in Thailand was spectacular. It is night and day compared to experiences in the USA. I got an expensive physical done several years ago and paid almost 1000 dollars. When I returned to the US and presented the book, that detailed all the tests, to my regular doctor, he looked it over and asked how much I paid. I told him about a thousand and he told me it would have been 13k or more in the USA. The hospitals are spotless and the staff are polite. I will omit the part about the nurses being a 0-3-5 dress size and perfectly lovely:) I once paid 8.00 dollars for a three-day treatment of drugs for a skin infection. I looked it up to see the price for the exact drug and amount in America. It was just over 900.00 USD.

I have experienced long waits to get in to see specialists here in the US, and one doctor told me it is because of the understaffing that has occurred since the pandemic. One of his offices had to close down because of understaffing. Thailand has become a top healthcare destination in recent years because of the quality, efficiency and reasonable cost.

They're not doctors they are practitioners. you can see a primary in fairly reasonable time, week or two, But not a specialist. 4-6 months, unless you go to the emergency room with the Illegals'. We just canceled a appointment with a Dermatologist for my daughter, because it was 4 months out, and the school diagnosed the problem.

Before you start extolling the virtues of medical systems across the planet you might want to enlighten yourself on the fact that normal anesthesia used in dental work is CONTAMINATED with the same components used in the shots. Namely graphene and hydrogel. Nothing is as it seems and unless your dentist is in the loop on this, you will through the anesthesia be inoculating yourself with dangerous nano technology that was released onto the public without the public's nor the dental industries' knowledge. Dentists in other countries are waking up to this fact and those that don't know are endangering their patients as well as themselves.

I work as an RN in the private sector and now as a federal employee with the VA hospital. My daughter was on a 2-year waiting list to be seen by a mental health specialist that was for All Children Hospital, University of South Florida, and FIU in Miami. All three had a 2-year waiting list. I've seen 3-year residents on their smart phones looking up the procedures for ACLS as we are doing chest compressions and pushing epinephrine. You never know who is providing your health care. As the old joke goes, what do you call a doctor that had a C average in medical school? ...... Doctor.

It will not matter where you are as it touches the whole world. When the USA gets a cold, the world catches the flu because with all its problems it still has internal economic, legal, military, and technology strengths etc. and where people move to to start companies. I agree with you on all that. It is hard to face up to the reality of how far things have slid in the west. I see so many counting on the next admin. saving the US but there's only so much one can do let alone in 4 years and with the rest of the world fighting against you. I'm only hopeful and optimistic due to me Christian faith. I started looking into the Philippines as a winter home possibility but now I'm starting to consider somewhere in SEA as a full time home. At the very least, short term, I want to take my family somewhere off the beaten path around the election season to wait out the initial turmoil. No matter the outcome there will be a large angry group uprising, is the way I see it. Regarding your trip to Thailand for health care, I think your decision sounds like an easy and obvious one. It makes all the sense in the world. If too many other westerners learn of the Healthcare situation in places like there they will flood there and ruin that too, making it too expensive and long waits for appts., etc.. For now it's awesome you have that and that the air fare within the region is affordable. I just recently subbed and now I see a 'join' button I will click on and do that. I want to help you out to the extent I can. God bless you and yours Juells.

If you just mind your own business, USA is still the most modern and functional economic and medical system in the world. You’re in Philippines because it’s cheaper, and that’s it. Surprisingly, your wife came back to the Philippines and decided not to cut bait and run, so fortunately you’ve got her there with you and a complete family again(more than most of us can say really). Hope you get better but don’t buy into all the news designed to drive you crazy and keep you agitated, shut it off.

I call bullshit on healthcare in the US. I gotta wait 1.5 months to get an MRI here in Connecticut. Thailand definitely seems like a deal.

This is a fact. Consuming too much bad news is bad for your mental health. Turn off the news and you'll be a lot happier.

Your experience with the unprofessional doctor should give all of us here in DUM a wake-up call. Dumaguete sucks when it comes to medical care, and your story just shows the medical incompetence we have to sort through. Juells don't go overboard on the rants about the USA. Do you think the Philippines is capable of standing up to China? In our dreams. There is a higher likelihood of an outbreak here. I am more concerned about the PHI-China crap in the China Seas. Concentrate on getting better in Thailand.
