so riddle me this, if u go vegan u will need to supplemant b12 & IMHO choline. so how can a diet be considered whole and/or complete if u must supplemant? i agree about processed foods/sugars etc. i will agree we should more, much more plant based & much less meat sourced foods. look at our forefathers being hunter/gatherers using sticks/stones to hunt with. makes pretty good sense that meat was truly a luxury item back then. not many are even aware of choline which in the western diet there are only 2 foods that supply a generous amount, that being eggs & liver. however, going back to our forefathers diet, rabbit,possum & squirrel are all excellent sources. so to each his own, i enjoy both rabbit & squirrel but havent tried possum yet.

I had end-stage heart disease 16 months ago requiring 6 different medications and a stent. 17 months later I have no angina and have my life back. It took me a lot of effort to go whole plant-based as I hunt and fish. I have been solid on this new diet with the only exception of 3 times eating fish in a survival situation on an island. I now grow all my own vegetables and I can run up to 12 km with no chest pain. I have had no stent and I am not taking any medication. My LDL was 5.8. It is now 1.7 I feel good.

Dr. Esselstyn has been doing WFPB diet for 34 years...so he had 50 years of growing up on meat. That's why he looks good at 84, due to all of the animal protein stores. He essentially put himself into a slow metabolism state at age 50. I'm certain he eats other foods like eggs or shellfish.

Because I was interested in something called the Virta program which is endorsed by the VA so I inquired with my doctor because they claim that they can reverse type two diabetes. He was adamant that once you have type two diabetes you’ll always have it. It doesn’t go away, he said what it does is it remains dormant. But you will always have it and It can always flare up at any time. Since my diagnosis I’ve lost 129 pounds. And my A1 C is down to 5.8. I’m not knocking this because everyone is different. I know how my body works though and it would not be receptive to this.

Mrs Plant ma'am, it works because you cut out lots of refined sugar and carbohydrates. Are you bloated? Do you have tons of fiber sitting in your gut? Not me, not anymore. I healed all my problems by eating nothing but animal and animal products. When people start the vegan diet and think that they're healing themselves, it's only because they've cut out other problems. A fast would have gotten you the same thing. Veganism is a 20-year starvation process. Vegan babies literally die with full stomachs. We can only digest about 12 to 20% of nutrients and vegetables, because they are in their raw form. We have an acidic digestive system like all carnivores, herbivores have alkaline digestive systems, because they grow bacteria to do the digesting for them. Are you ever tired during the day? I used to be, not anymore. I'm never hungry, never tired, never feeling weak, never depressed, I can work a lot harder, and longer. Besides, it's not much of a healthy diet if you have to supplement just keep your nutrients up

The majority of people who have tried this diet do not last long even when taking the nessesery supplements. It works amazingly for a while but gradually your health deteriorates. Some people dont realise this, untill they have meat and dairy and literally feel healthy again. In addition the bloodwork we see from veteran vegans is appalling. If you are going to go vegan, do it for a max of 3 months at a time to get the benefits. All in all there is a perfect diet. Larry Hutcherson Sr lack of government support? The government support behind the food industry is what ruined it.... Government said lots of grain, government said lots of carbs, government said low saturated fat. Government is wrong, government screwed up our health.

Natural Man you're cute. You fall for any propaganda don't ya, so long as it fits in with your world view and what the govt tells you how to live your life. The almighty government paid for studies could never be wrong or misleading could it. Nope. Trust big brother. Big brother, who runs the fda, which PROFITS big brother. The governments want us sick. They want to force single payer health insurance on us.

My mom had a minor stroke when I was a child, has suffered from colitis and hypothyroidism for many years, is overweight, and yet she has INCREASED her intake of animal products and minimized the veggies she eats, thanks to the keto diet. :-( I hate watching family members suffer needlessly. They are entirely unconvinced that a WFPB diet would reverse their ailments and won't even give it a try or a closer look. My husband turns to fast food and junk food to relieve stress, and I worry about his future, too. It's such a revolutionary thing to discover and embrace a vegan lifestyle, and I sincerely hope he comes around to it before very long.

I have very small little girl arteries and they are treacherous so unable to do all the stents. Several tries with different cardiologist in the right femoral artery has caused major damage without artery causing a stent needing to be placed. Needed a specialist to try and navigate the treacherous arteries to unblock the other blockages and damaged the left femoral artery and now I have a stent and that artery. I can see and understand the health diet and message that is being given here. Like I said I wished I had known this 20 years ago. I have been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease

Whole-food plant-based food tastes good and it is really easy to transition, especially if you already have a friend who eats plant-based. Ask if you can come over and help her cook dinner and see what you do differently and why. And enjoy the taste. My husband never thought he could eat this way but he now even tells our children how good it tastes and he is post prostate cancer surgery. I cook in batches and swap foods around so the cooking time per day is really no headache. One thing I did not think would happen is that you become happy, I feel joy. Who would have thought, but my gut now can produce its own serotonin and the extra gets shared with my brain and I am suddenly sleeping better.

Patrick van meter Yes, it’s very sad... but I wouldn’t say “never”. No disrespect. While you are right there’s no money in a cure or any real money in proposing a plant based diet what we do have is the internet. Info is being passed around like crazy and one just has to make sense of it all and follow ones own heart. I think too perhaps that a plant based diet is so straight forward, so simple that the average unhealthy person can’t comprehend. But I for one will press on, I’m a third your age and I’ll be saying the same thing about being on no western meds when I’m 77!

I gained back even more than I lost. I feel like I can do this for the long haul. I’ve got about 35ish lbs to lose.
@lovelove3262 жыл бұрын
I ate keto for 4 years. Had high BP and bleeding guns. Was nervous to try the Starch protocol given the ongoing bad wrap on carbs. Within 2 weeks my BP went from 180’s / 100 to 117/76. Gums stopped bleeding and returned to a healthy pink. My sleep and digestion improved 10 fold! I do miss cheese but never again. I now crave broccoli 🥦 and sweet potatoes. I am 65. My age spots are lighter, and 1/2 have disappeared. My skin is less ruddy, my ankles are no longer swollen. I've been vegetarian for years, but have gone complete Vegan for the last 2 months. I had lost some weight going vegetarian and stopped drinking milk at the same time and my arthritis was cured. But an occasional dinner of meat, and soon I was hooked again. Which lead to my gallbladder surgery. Since then I've done better but was not losing weight, which I needed to lose. Since getting serious about being Vegan, now I have upped the anti and eat mostly raw and feel so good. It took me a while to be able to do this as at first, I was either not chewing long enough or lacked the enzymes at first as my bowels went so much I was sore. So I backed off and then was better and creeped into raw more slowly and am just fine. Feeling the best since being a teenager. Lots of energy. Have to get off coffee, it is the hardest to give up. I drink it about half the time though and usually don't finish it, so I am working on it. Quit beer and wine without an effort. I still have a problem getting a good night sleep except for sometimes. When I lose enough I think I'll take up running again as when I was younger, it made me sleep like a baby. That is how good I feel.

KJ's WHAT I EAT KJ's WHAT I EAT eating plant-based makes you bloated and fat. One, look up leaky gut syndrome, to look at how fiber rots in your gut and just stays there, 3, look how plant nutrients are in their raw form and don't break down. We need herbivores to break them down for us. our digestive systems are acidic, like every carnivore on this dang planet. herbivores have alkaline digestive systems, because they can't break down their own food, instead they cultivate bacteria to do it for them
@tonyc25706 жыл бұрын
Drink a bit of apple cider vinegar diluted with water b4 you eat certain foods that cause bloating. In my case it was lentils with black eyed peas and broccli. Steam broccli b4 eating also. some raw veggies to cause bloating. My bloating completely went away after doing these 2 things. (apple cider vinegar and steaming) It works and can still eat healthy without the bloating.
@meyou70416 жыл бұрын
Tony C I started something pretty akin to the carnivore diet, I get no more bloating at all, everything is consistent and better than before. I passed gas maybe once a day, somewhat more if I eat a lot of eggs, they have nothing in them or whatever gas it is.

I had a mastectomy two years ago at a teaching "University Hospital." I did tons of research about Cancer and nutrition before and after my surgery. I was horrified by the menu they gave to the patients. Nothing but unhealthy foods, everything that I - as a recovering Cancer patient - wasn't supposed to eat. Healing starts in your gut. This not only makes good sense and is empirically verifiable, as a Christian I look to my Bible and find corroboration right at the start in Genesis 1: "Then God said, 'I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.' " It's surely saying that this He is how He always intended us to live.
