I love all kinds of seafood, including sardines. I'm especially nuts about steelhead trout. You have to be be careful buying it, because it looks exactly like salmon, another one of my favorites. I bake steelhead trout on a little drizzle of olive oil, the tiniest pinch of pink or purple Himalayan sea salt, and a sprinkle of Dill and garlic powder. I could stop right there and call it a day, but I also have it with a salad and homemade, EVOO-based dressing.

For the most part of my early childhood my mother gave us Scott's Emulsion. I mention this because I found out recently that it is a good source of Omega Three. We also ate a lot of seafood including sardines, fish of all kind (usually broiled or baked), codfish cakes, fish roe, canned salmon, and even mackerel which was often served with grits. I love sardines and for an extended period ate a few or more cans a week. I love them alone, as part of a salad and make a sardine, mayonnaise, onion salad which I eat with saltines or as a sandwich. I've enjoyed good health for the most of my life and for a very long period was very proud that I could draw a pencil line down the No column during any doctor's office visit. [BTW, my mother had worked as a nurse and knew the importance of good, fresh foods. We ate a lot of greens - collards, mustard, turnips), squash, sweet potatoes, cabbage and all kinds of beans. I think that helped a lot too. [She would also give us kids a teaspoon of castor oil each week.]]

@@yizzynightingale138 Also, Season brand Sardines in olive oil are very good. I enjoy them with my own yellow mustard (not packed in the tin with mustard). Check the Season brand sardines prices at Walmart too. Season brand has bone-in and boneless. Sardines with bone-in are also an excellent source of calcium which is something to consider. And for anyone reading this, avoid sardines packed in cheaper oils such as cottonseed. Olive oil will be best for your body.

@@denizalgazi thank you for your information. I need to double check on that. . Idk , maybe eating sardines without the head part I might. I do believe that sardines bones do have a lot goodness in them. Its that my tongue cringe on that part and doesn't feel right either. It feels like part of my broken tooth that hasn't been fixed. Well it has but tooth cap and tooth crown keeps falling off . It doesn't hurt but the sharp part of my tooth is sometimes annoying.. It doesn't hurt itself cause my tooth and nerves in that area are dead..🙄😊💛🌻

Vegetable oils are bad and the water may not be well filtered, but olive oil can be cut with vegetable oils since olives are more expensive. In any case, olive oil goes rancid pretty fast. Fresh is best! Whole for the soul! Eat the olives and skip the separated oils.

My doctor asked me what my favorite fish is upon learning I grew up just a few meters from China Sea. I said sardines . He was surprised. It's a seasonal fish and they beached themselves to spawn making them easy picking. The most delicious skewered on bamboo sticks , grilled on driftwood fire at the beach . OMEGA 3 Oils dripping from it gives a mouthwatering aroma the gods enjoyed it as well.

Fortunately, I like Satdines, and they're cheap, which is very important for elderly or disabled people like me whom the government has deemed unworthy of sufficient income, even tho they (Congress) create money out of thin air. That's right: unlike States, taxes don't fund Federal spending. The tax liability is what drives the value of our fiat currency but it does not fund Federal spending. Never tried canned sardines, canned mackerel, canned smoked herring, canned cod liver until last year. We always had cans of tuna so I never really thought of the other kinds of canned fish until I saw their health benefits in videos and articles… I love having these with mayonnaise. Sometimes I’ll use only sour cream, and only cream cheese but with mayonnaise it always hits 😼🔥 They’re packed with nutrition for sure and easy to eat quickly. The only thing I don’t really like is that when you pull the aluminum tab to open the can, the oil (I only buy canned fish with olive oil, it shouldn’t say refined olive oil) gets all over the place 😲😾🤦💀✊🏼 I eat lots of canned fish, almost daily. If I had too much for a while, I’ll switch over to eggs (which also has lots of nutrition) 🙏🏼🔥
