Tip for the kabocha (for people with a microwave), you can throw it in the microwave before cutting it to help soften it and if you have a knife with a thinner spine/back, it will be easier to get through. They sure are a pain to cut!

I’ve always frozen homemade baby food in breast milk bags. That way I can just easily put in fridge to defrost and warm water to heat.

The only thing I don’t like it heating it up in the plastic. I would recommend thawing it in the fridge overnight and transferring it into glass to reheat

Thank you for the reminder to not take feedings solids so serious. I’m a first time mom trying to navigate everything and have found myself getting caught up in the purée vs. blw thing. It has become anxiety inducing recently. My baby is almost 8 months and I have tried blw style where you give them a big piece of something and he near about chokes every time. He has a very sensitive gag reflex and reflux so makes eating solids nerve racking for mamma. I’ve now been doing it like you with more purées but self feeding. I still get in my mind about him learning the skill of chewing but not letting it being a stressful experience for me and baby. Any advice?
@inesspencer28266 ай бұрын
I think that is normal. Initially wanted to do blw and quickly went to purees because of gag reflex/chocking. Purees were great and I gradually started giving him some soft solids like avocado or mango as he grew up and then harder stuff. Don't rush, your baby will be just fine
@livefreediepretty6 ай бұрын
Do you introduce all those individual ingredients alone for allergy reasons?
@allied8263 ай бұрын
where are your containers from??😭
@secilozcan92355 ай бұрын
I think all these things are really complicated for 6 months. Firstly they need to taste pure veggies or fruits without adding or mixing things, it is important to prevent unexpected allergic reaction and baby needs to taste all things to understand their real taste.anyways they are really healthy for 8-9 months and Freezing don't case losing nutrition. I will try all these stuffs. Oakley is always really thin when comparing other babys, but every babys are different and special.

Are you using all fresh breastmilk for these recipes? Because otherwise you can’t thaw frozen and re-thaw I read? 🤷♀️
@surlespasdondine6 ай бұрын
I made big quantities than froze them in ice-cube trays. Once one tray of cubes was frozen I would put all the cubes in a bag. When my babies started eating solids they would eat one heated cube. Later two. And so on. Really practical. Of course they ate a of freshly made food too but liked having some on stock.
@iblamethisallonhaley6 ай бұрын
We did that too! And with more cubes we could mix and match veggies and grains.

Why Ceylon cinnamon?
@HealthNutNutrition6 ай бұрын
The regular one I believe is called Cassi cinnamon which when consumed a lot can be toxic. I can’t remember exactly but you can google it. My mom told me a whole thing about it one time and now I only buy Ceylon
@monikab34136 ай бұрын
Cassia cinnamon contains a chemical called coumarin, which can be harmful to the liver. Some cassia cinnamon products contain high levels of this substance. It is possibly unsafe when taken in doses larger than 6 grams daily for a long period of time. There are lots of articles on the web.

Mushrooms and chia seeds are not recommended for babies under 1 year. I don’t understand why you freeze the food for such a little baby who should eat freshly cooked food.
@deirdresomner87496 ай бұрын
Yes , my health nurse told me this too I make my babbies food fresh every day its really not that difficult but I do freeze my own broth as it makes life easier. I think thats why she freezes everything so its easier as she works outside of being a working mum.

I have followed this account for over 2 years and always froze my baby food from fresh so it was easier and my baby is so healthy- there is nothing wrong with it or unsafe
@rmkd00205 ай бұрын
You know instead of hating on frozen food you can commend her for spending the time to make healthy homemade foods for her little baby!
@Majush55 ай бұрын
@@rmkd0020 it's not hate, just a statement. yes, she makes healthy food for the child, which she freezes, which means that fresh food loses all its nutrients, plus freezing food is dangerous for the baby's small and underdeveloped stomach, which is just getting used to solid food. Given her job, she should know that certain foods do not belong in the refrigerator, let alone the freezer, such as sweet potatoes (which are stored in a dark and dry place). #justsaying

Pre soaked chia seeds and mushrooms are fine for babies from 6 months onwards. It's recommended to wash them. That's for the UK, maybe it's different where you're from?
