It really unhealthy, he uses tinned baked beans full of sugars. Beef mince full of fats when hen should be using turkey mince and he does not include the basic herbs that give a chilli its flavour, the guy cant cook and obviously does not have a clue. Use Cumin, cinemon stick, bay leaf, chilies, kidney beans, coco powder half a teaspoon, 1 desert spoon tomato purea, onion. Tinned tomatoes, half a disolevex in water stock cube, some black pepper and thats it. Add 1 tin of water same as 1 tin of tomateos to help with reducing as it will be cooking for about 3 hours. Serve with coconut rice or mashed potato

Yo people! If you have any questions about the vid, drop them in the comments below. I'm a few days into my meals now and actually proper enjoying it, so might do some more of these videos with different recipes if people wanna see 'em? One thing I didn't mention (but hopefully goes without saying): don't put the foil containers in the microwave or it'll probably blow up. Cheers everyone xx P.s. Which level of heat did you use to cook the onions before adding the minced beef for the chilli con carne recipe if I may ask? 5min-10min of cooking finely chopped onion indicates to me that it would either be low or medium heat. It's likely an obvious question I suppose, so please forgive my obliviousness. Cheers.

For garlic/ginger/fresh chilli, I highly recommend getting frozen packs of pre-minced versions. You can get these from Asda/Tesco etc as part of their world food range. You can get about 400g of garlic for 85p. Cheaper than powder, tastier and as it's frozen, will last months.

Love the vid, but I only have one piece of advice. Skip the frying pan and do the initial cooking/browning directly in the pot, that way the added moisture will de-glaze the bottom of the pot and you get back a lot more caramelized flavor in the final product.

Brexit has had no effect on prices yet and won't until Jan 2021. When it comes to food prices it will open our markets up to the rest of the world and reduce the cost of food, clothing and footwear. The EU is a protectionist trade cartel designed to artificially prop up inefficient agriculture on the continent and exploit the 3rd world. Get informed.

Some fruity variations that keep the cost low: 1. add pineapple chunks to the chili. Use canned to keep it cheap. In natural juice preferably, but you can always rinse off the syrup. 2. add parts of orange to the chicken couscous. You could also add some orange juice to the packet of chicken for that extra glaze. Or don't if you don't feel like it

Rule of thumb for chicken breast is: 1kg in 5 pieces (how i typically get them) spice accordingly and put in a pre heated oven at 400 deg for 25 mins, let sit covered afterwards for 10 mins. Perfect juicy chicken breast every time.

Great vids. I know for me I couldn't eat chilli for 5 days in a row. It would make me end up getting a take away by Thursday. So I boil up the mince and split it into two. One chilli and one bolognese and alternate. If I have bread in the house that needs using up I do meatballs with mince, bread crumbs, seasoning. For the chicken I usually get boneless chicken thighs cos they seem to keep their flavour a bit longer than breasts. Do one tray of honey, garlic, ginger, soya chicken. The other one I do lemon and black pepper chicken. Takes only about 5 minutes longer to do 2 more recipes cos the main ingredients are the same. Chicken thighs have higher calories though per gram than breasts, if you're counting calories. But if it means sticking to the plan in the long run and not diving into a take away, it's a win.

Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou! Joe, I am not sure if you will ever read this comment but I wanted you to know this video has changed my life (no exaggeration). I am a 52 year old fit and healthy(ish) guy, but I havevthe diet of a 10 year old (mostly chocolate). I desperately want to eat normal food, but I am so fussy. After watching this video I went and bought all the ingredients (I literally owned none). I cannot/will not cook usually, but I followed your video as best I could and turned out 9 meals yesterday. Today I have eaten the chilli con carne and the couscous with chicken and green beans. I swear, I have NEVER eaten or even tried either previously. OMG! I feckin' loved them both. Cannot wait until tomorrow. I may eat these for the rest of my life! I am not interest in bulking or shredding, I just want to stave off the inevitable chocolate-induced coronary that is heading my way. Your video has provided me an alternative. Thankyou! I would recommend sautéing the ground beef in several batches and flattening it in a skillet. What it does is create a nice caramelization and also enhance that great meaty flavor. Only then do you add the onion and let it absorb the fat that has been released and remove the glaze from the pan. Trust me, the difference is noticeable.
