It really unhealthy, he uses tinned baked beans full of sugars. Beef mince full of fats when hen should be using turkey mince and he does not include the basic herbs that give a chilli its flavour, the guy cant cook and obviously does not have a clue. Use Cumin, cinemon stick, bay leaf, chilies, kidney beans, coco powder half a teaspoon, 1 desert spoon tomato purea, onion. Tinned tomatoes, half a disolevex in water stock cube, some black pepper and thats it. Add 1 tin of water same as 1 tin of tomateos to help with reducing as it will be cooking for about 3 hours. Great vids. I know for me I couldn't eat chilli for 5 days in a row. It would make me end up getting a take away by Thursday. So I boil up the mince and split it into two. One chilli and one bolognese and alternate. If I have bread in the house that needs using up I do meatballs with mince,bread crumbs,seasoning. For the chicken I usually get boneless chicken thighs cos they seem to keep their flavour a bit longer than breasts. Do one tray of honey,garlic,ginger,soya chicken. The other one I do lemon and black pepper chicken. Takes only about 5 minutes longer to do 2 more recipes cos the main ingredients are the same. Chicken thighs have higher calories though per gram than breasts, if you're counting calories. But if it means sticking to the plan in the long run and not diving into a take away, it's a win.

Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou! Joe, I am not sure if you will ever read this comment but I wanted you to know this video has changed my life (no exaggeration). I am a 52 year old fit and healthy(ish) guy, but I havevthe diet of a 10 year old (mostly chocolate). I desperately want to eat normal food, but I am so fussy. After watching this video I went and bought all the ingredients (I literally owned none). I cannot/will not cook usually, but I followed your video as best I could and turned out 9 meals yesterday. Today I have eaten the chilli con carne and the couscous with chicken and green beans. I swear, I have NEVER eaten or even tried either previously. OMG! I feckin' loved them both. Cannot wait until tomorrow. I may eat these for the rest of my life! I am not interest in bulking or shredding, I just want to stave off the inevitable chocolate-induced coronary that is heading my way. Your video has provided me an alternative. Thankyou! Keep up the great work!

When cooking with tomato puree, always heat it, in a pan first, it makes the flavour profile stronger, not for too long just like 20-30 sec to get it to wake up

I make a similar chilli too but with turkey mince and chicken stock, turns out pretty nice! For the greens too you can get a bamboo steamer, whack some stuff (broccoli, carrots, beans) in it over a pan of boiling water for like 15 mins and you're done. Easy peasy.

I just tried your chilli, and a version of your overnight oats. They are fantastic recipes, and taste really really good. The dark chocolate did add something to the taste, as well as the bit I threw down my throat whilst cooking. Your work is fantastic, thanks very much for sharing. (IMO), Not many producers here care about the reality of being low on cash with limited options! 🙂

There's a lot of pretentious people out there who do meal prep and make it expensive, over complicated, dry/bland/boring, or perishable. This isn't one of them, and i'm actually considering doing this.
@dymmalowitz54654 жыл бұрын
I would recommend sautéing the ground beef in several batches and flattening it in a skillet. What it does is create a nice caramelization and also enhance that great meaty flavor. Only then do you add the onion and let it absorb the fat that has been released and remove the glaze from the pan. Trust me, the difference is noticeable.

@misterman67184 жыл бұрын
Anything sweet in a chili con carne is a no go for me. Can't stand bell peppers in there either. Baked beans, no chance! Mince needs to be seared and use finger chillies or similar. What about the garlic with the onions? Lots of people do make chili this way for some reason.

I think it depends on the location. The aldi by me often has produce, meats and non perishables that are out of date/expired. That can happen anywhere though but for some reason it seems to happen more often than the other stores near me.

@@regwattfunkylist I work there and we check daily 2x and have to put discount for 30% on for 2 days ahead so nothing ever is expired but idk if that is in America also or where your from if it happens, leave a Google review at that Aldi if there's many bad they'll make sure to work on it, because they're quite strict but they pay their workers really good too
