4 oz. meat/poultry/fish
2 eggs
2 oz. hard cheese
4 oz. cottage cheese (plain)
8 oz. yogurt (plain, no added sugar)
2 oz. nuts/seeds/nut butters (no sugar)
6 oz. beans (legumes)
4 oz. hummus
2 veggie burgers
4 oz. plain tofu
4 oz. tempeh
GRAIN
4 oz. cooked rice, potato, quinoa (or any cooked whole grain)
4 oz. corn or peas or winter squashes
2 oz. oatmeal or oat bran (weighed dry, before preparing with water)
3 rice cakes
FRUIT
1 piece of fruit (apple, orange, banana, peach, etc.)
6 oz. loose or diced fruit (berries, grapes, cantaloupe, watermelon, fruit salad, etc.)
2 oz. dried fruit (raisins, dates, apricots, etc.)
VEGETABLES
16 oz. cooked or raw or a combination of both
including summers squashes
including avocado and olives, used sparingly
FAT
1 Tablespoon oil (olive oil, canola oil, safflower oil, vegetable oil, coconut oil, etc.) (any oil)

To the person said she was struggling with the nicotine. First I want to be clear, I’m a former drinker, smoker, so I’m not being judgmental. Now I’m tackling consuming too much food, and unhealthy food. It’s interesting how easy it is to create unhealthy habits, and to become addicted, but to stop habits isn’t easy, thus we struggle. When Lulu summed it up, it really struck a chord for me that transitioning to living clean sucks, it isn’t easy, and we fool ourselves if we think stopping is as easy as starting. I speak from experience. Expect that it will suck and work through the “suckey” part. I’m a witness. Wishing you all the best.

This works pretty good for eggs that peel. Steam them. Add water to pot, when the water boils add eggs to steamer basket and steam for 14 minutes then put the eggs into cold, preferably ice, water.

If your lettuce goes limp don't throw away, you can fry/sauté it up like you do spinach or collard greens..it's delicious!!

I so look forward to this video! Thank you everyone! I find prepping meals for my 3-day weekend of 12 hr shifts a challenge but it's getting easier! Seeing fantastic results with less/no pain and dropping weight. Got through my first camping weekend with my grandkids with lots of planning, lists, etc. It went fine!😊

Hey, Lulu and Barb! Fabulous video! I was listening to the lady who was talking about not wanting to keep food in the refrigerator for more than a couple of days-and she was talking about making soup. A few years ago, I watched Lydia Bastianich, and she puts leftover lettuce in her soups-basically any greens that are near their best before date. I thought that this was brilliant! I with you about recipes Lulu. I have never enjoyed that kind of cooking. I like prepping and putting things together as the mood strikes. I don't weigh each item but do strike a balance with protein, carbs and fat. Lots of veggies, some fruit. Whole foods all the way and minimal processed foods. Simple and streamlined and no waste.

About quitting smoking: the craving only lasts for 20 seconds. When you get that craving feeling, look at your watch. You can do almost anything for twenty seconds. So just wait for 20 seconds, the craving should subside. If it doesn’t, give yourself another 20 seconds to hold off. If you really can’t make it, then allow yourself one or two drags, not the whole amount. Count it as a win, even though you couldn’t hold out. Each time you get that craving, look at your watch and wait. In 20 seconds that craving will be over. You don’t have to quit for the rest of your life; you only have to quit for 20 seconds. The more you try, the more chance for success. Soon you won’t be needing it. Good luck!

Hello: I’m from the Carribean- we call it “Boniato” I think that’s what you were trying to say. Yes, soo delicious . I’ve been eating those since I was a lil girl. We put them in soups or make it creamy with olive oil. Now I eat it “Lulu’s Way ! 😋

Hi Lulu, there is a store called H Mart that sells fresh japanese purple sweet potatoes, and also, they sell them baked over hot stones, also black rice steamed into an acorn squash, broiled mackerek and other options.... Also, idk if you use butane canisters for cooking, but your viewers who do may like to know the price for a 4 pack (presently) is $5.99, a huge discount from walmart price. They can be found in major cities and i believe, in mass too. * Edit, just mentioning for your travels, i know you get them from whole foods lol

I’m so proud of myself & very grateful to you. I just baked broccoli & cauliflower with carrots & garlic, S & P, paprika & I tossed it with Rosemary olive oil. 400 for 25 mins & broil for about 6 mins. Covered with a bit of vegan cheddar 😋😋😋😋😋 So Delishus

You know what keeps me going? Nothing else worked!!! I tried everything, wasting a huge amount of time. I’m old, not wasting any more time. Beyond me how you can justify any unhealthy thing after you kill yourself cooking all this healthy food!! Hard, hell yeah. Let it go!!! It’s not for you any more. Unless you like being fat and unhealthy.

I did try the Japanese white sweet potatoes, but I didn’t like them at all, personal preference, regular potatoes are fine, I don’t eat much rice, it’s constipating for me. My favorite veg is green zucchini, i make a stew with onions, zucchini and a cut up tomato, all vegetables. Makes a kind of sauce and I can put that over my chicken or fish if it’s dry. I make a container to hold about 3 days for me. Getting warmer and would make life easier if I could eat salad. Very bad stomach, chronic IBS. The cooking is very hard, 8 million dishes to wash, no dishwasher, don’t have and don’t have room for or budget for fancy appliances . Not really a vegetable lover because they’ve always made me sick, but I try. My problem is I’m unable to eat 3 full meals. I try to have a protein at least, like peanut butter, if I can’t do the 3rd meal. Stomach has improved slightly without flour but it’s very unpredictable. Down 27 pounds since mid Feb. don’t overdo supplements folks, I was taking additional B12 hoping for energy and my number was way too high. I did have an NSV, my liver numbers AST and ALT ( I have NAFLD) are less than half and now well within range. Thank you Lulu.

Lulu What about a video on the importance of exercise. Atleast 30 minutes a day...a daily walk etc. I focus on atleast.5k steps a day and more when i can. It is so important for blood pressure and muscle and bone health. When you go to Planet fitness for a shower do you spend any time on the equipment? It only takes 30 minutes a day to improve peoples health. It would be nice to see a video or two on the subject. PS..your dancing is a great way to get moving in the right direction.
