Relatable! The snacking tips are really helpful - I’ve been leaning towards convenience and comfort foods too during the late winter. Something about the sunshine is making us all hopeful and conscious of our health habits these days.

Great video! Meal planning has been the key for feeding my vegan family of five healthy food and yes it’s very helpful to not be end of the day and have start thinking about what I should cook.

it sounds like we both enjoy meal planning for the same reasons! spontaneity is great at times but meal planning really works for us too, it keeps us innovative (sounds like a paradox but is true) and helps us make sure we get a good variety of meals in our week. I can imagine it's even more helpful in a bigger number as with your family, also can imagine it's fun to get together and plan it out :)

I appreciate you sharing these wonderful tips! I too, was getting obsessed with reading the news and it brought even more anxiety and sadness into my days. I finally subscribed to an app that sends me five top news stories every morning, but they are summarized and concise. I read them while eating breakfast and then, no more news until the next day!

glad the video resonated with you Amy :) I like to stay up to date but was feeling so overwhelmed, I do realise it's a privilege to be able to choose to engage or not but it's important to find a way to engage that suits you. That way you don't get fatigued and stay alerty enough to actually be mindful and active in changing things. Glad you've found a way that works for you :)

yes, unfortunately it is! there are many positives and as long as it feels inspiring it's great but unfortunately for many of us there's also a downside and it's within that realm we need healthy boundaries and strategies :) there's always shifts and learning that can be done to feel our best and have a good impact over all on the world around us. glad the video resonated with you! :) xx

I love everything on this list! Currently I am trying to incorporate food prep into my "schedule" because too often I get busy and don't eat enough, or I turn to something quick and unhealthy. I'm starting small with just preparing lunch for the week on my day off Mondays! To make sure I do this I decide what I'm making and make sure I have all the ingredients by Sunday. Today my lunch prep was a pasta salad with roasted veggies and a vegan creamy Italian vinaigrette! I can't wait for lunch tomorrow! 😋 I also find I am much more inclined to cook a healthy dinner if I've had a satisfying lunch.

I think after the year we have all experienced we can forgive ourselves for losing track of all the issues you address here! The whole world doesn’t typically deal with the same exact stressors. News, food, exercise, routines, friends…they’ve been black or white recently - either an overdose or a complete absence. I think the challenge for me is keeping things spontaneous while getting things done in an enjoyable way. Too much planning and scheduling can make the fun things seem MANDATORY and that robs the joy out of it for me. I do know I can’t spend another summer hiding inside so I’m hoping the vaccine does what people seem incapable of managing through self control! ♥️ to all.
@GoodEatings3 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you and I have definitely not been pushing myself, maybe I wasn't clear about that in the video. It wasn't meant to be pushy at all but simply an opening to chat a little bit about how we can get started with habits that feel good. I also realise that some things work better for some than for others and that planning is good for some things and not for others. maybe I wasn't so clear 9on that in the video either. I always think you guys just take what you like from my videos, I never want to preach to you something that doesn't resonate. do what feels good for oyu and leave the rest :) xx
@Maiasatara3 жыл бұрын
@@GoodEatings - I think you’re misunderstanding me. I’m agreeing with you 100%!!! Maybe I’m the one who’s not saying it right lol. I agree that getting back to the things that we love is definitely long overdue. I only said that for me I lose motivation when something feels like a chore or work. Sometimes if I schedule things they feel like work rather than fun and I thought maybe others may feel the same. But my intention was to convey my agreement. ♥️

@@GoodEatings I'm totally with you Malin! If i don't keep some sort of track of my hours in this weird times I'm lost, and yes, is not pushing but more like a checking in with your self. Although I'm aware that sometimes is really hard coz this is extending way too long, in my case.

I really let things slide over the last year as well! I was juicing and using smoothies and totally got away from it.. I definitely feel the difference! Thank you for these great recipes! I can eat really healthy and be really on track all day and then at night I need a snack and that's when I ruin it with a with the processed one even though it's organic it's still processed and I don't know when to stop as I'm an emotional eater! So frustrating!
@GoodEatings3 жыл бұрын
hi nancy :) I think many can relate to what you're saying. I do think we need to be kinder to ourselves and not see our way of eating in black and white. It's okay to have processed foods and all foods (vegan ones in my case), no need to beat ourselves up. then of course you want to do the things that feel right to you and find a balance that works for you in your life. If the processed foods don't make you feel good in the long run it's worth investing some thoughts into why you are reaching for those foods and how you can gently shift your behaviour. I am an emotional eater too and what I've learned is that the problem is not in the relationship with the food itself but rather with other aspects that trigger the emotion itself that then leads to emotional eating. With that said emotional eating can be a comfort and I don't see it as something wrong within itself, it's a tool I can use once in a while when I need it. Does that make sense? Having said all this I know we're all different and need different things. It can be really helpful to see a nutritional therapist or therapist that you can talk to about your emotional eating if it's something you think is impacting your life negatively. As you know I'm no nutritionist myself so these are just words from one human to another and not professional advice. I just wanted to write you a reply in hopes it can be helpful to you. I hope you are kind to yourself and enjoy your meals :) xx

@@GoodEatings Thank you so much I really appreciate your advice and direction and kindness! I have so many stress issues that I'm dealing with that's my need for the comfort of food for sure! trying to redirect myself to do other things to take my mind off of snacking, like reading, watching KZbin! My husband and I are mainly whole food plant-based trying to get away from eating seafood not there yet. My husband has a hard time keeping weight on so it's really hard to be totally vegetarian or vegan for this reason can I have the fact that he's diabetic so it makes it so much more complicated! but we have been using many of your recipes and I have to really try to take some photos and tag you on Instagram! Malin do you have some list of your favourite meals? Week plan of lunches and dinners is something what i try to do almost year, but i spend too much time with thinking about meals (sometimes i have it in minute, sometimes is a 20 minutes torture). Mostly i do it before shopping, so i'm under time pressure and i cant remember to some good meals. Thank you and thank you for next awesome inspirational video :)

hi vendula :) you can find my go to meals here: goodeatings.com/a-week-of/ also check the video I posted before this one with my current favourite 20 min meals, maybe it could be helpful :) other than that I think salads are great for quick meals, the best vegan fast food. with a big dollop of hummus and some whole grain bread on the side. yum!
