Healthy Outside Food? Vs Home Cooking? | Sainthavi's Podcast

Eating out is purely a personal choice and convenience, of course ,generally , concern from near and dear ones are ok , not otherwise.
@sowmyaramji12 ай бұрын
Eating outside is one’s individual choice but what I have observed of late from eating outside food is I am so thirsty after having restaurant food and keep drinking lot of water unusually so I did some reading and found that in restaurants they go little high on salt which acts as preservative so that disturbs ph balance in my body and leads to unusual thirst. This is my observation of my body response to outside food.

Nice video sis. Auntie’s way of saying is always admirable. Eating out or at home doesn’t matter. The people around the table, making memories is all matters. Food is another way of speaking your heart.

Hi Sain, first of all I commend you for addressing this issue & being very honest about your family’s food habits even though you knew that you may face a lot of backlash about it. That being said, let’s agree to disagree on a few points: Your kids & their friends may prefer eating outside but saying that a majority of Indian kids born & raised here prefer the same thing is not true at all. A child’s food habits are formed when they first start solid foods as babies & then grow & change as they grow older. My kids love & enjoy authentic healthy home cooked Indian food & eat out only when they’re too busy to cook, when socializing or just to enjoy a restaurant meal occasionally. They are not only very health conscious but frugal as well so they don’t like to spend money eating out all the time. It is also very irresponsible to say that you can eat whatever you want & medical conditions are not connected to your diet. Every single medical professional in the world today is emphasizing a healthy diet that leads to a healthy gut because gut inflammation =inflammation in the body which is the cause of everything from cancer, heart disease, diabetes, autoimmune conditions & many more health issues. I rest my case 😊

Hi Sainthavi, One of the many interesting approaches you take in your vlog, is you keep it real and balanced. There are scores of posts where you promote healthy, nutritional aspects of ingredients and demonstrate ways of preparation to preserve said health benefits. You also allow many of us to experience indirectly the variety of cuisine that is available in your community and in other locations. From my POV, you and Vinodh make the best choices that suit any given circumstance/situation/convenience or needs of the family. Thanks for all your efforts in showcasing that moderation is best!

Saindavi, home made food is indefinitely better than restaurant cooked food. It’s because restaurants to be in business have to cook tasty food meaning food that is oilier, richer etc, healthful food is not at all a priority for them. So you can go ahead and eat your heart’s content in restaurants but to say that home cooked food is equally bad as restaurant food is not true. Im all for giving us ladies a break from the kitchen, I eat out often, but when it comes to watching my weight and eating healthy nothing beats my home cooked food.

in inida they sell idlis which is the most healthy food and so it is fine to dine idlis out and becausw it is steamed it makes it all the more healthy. but the outside food here esp in the is horryfyingly unhealthy, unless it is plant based and even that has exceptions. also in india the culture is changing because of increased discretionary income, outside eating and fast foods have taken the place of traditional home cooked meals and nobody is touting those changes. Infact these poor habits are having a seriously detrimental effect on the [hysical and mental health of individuals.

Relatively speaking outside food depending on the cuisine is loaded in salt, fats n sugars. to make the food taste better restaurants add boatloads of saturated fats, salt n sugar which we dont with home cooking. the argument that we are all gonna perish one day is illogical , lolbecause poor eating habits definitely accelerate poor health!

Healthy outside food sounds like an oxymoron. Can never justify eating outside as healthy or a better choice .It reflects in size of our tummy and weight first . Later followed by life style related illness.

I don't understand how you can justify eating out by comparing 3 different scenarios. Your mom doesnt have to cook everyday. Given her age and choice she can eat idli outside. But imagine if she decides to eat chicken 65 outside everyday. American families feed their kids home made food. This notion N.American kids eat junk is B.S They ear proteins , steamed or sautéed veggies and mashed potatoes or bread. When you buy kids food outside they are eating crap, real crap. They can learn to cook these favorites at home. It's all about adapting. Like when are they ever going to learn to survive. If they can have a part-time job at 16 , why cant kids learn to make salads at home and eat healthy. I have taught my daughter to do that. Airfry proteins, add to salads and make healthy food. It's always important to teach kids to eat home cooked meals. It's a stupid argument to say everything comes in packets or bottles. Then why do you prefer whole foods, organic produce?? Health care system in US is not the best. It's better to watch what you put in your body. No point in screwing up your healthy and then crying. In a day, what's the most amount of calories you can burn? Think about the sedentary US lifestyle ..what are we teaching the kids then? Eating out if avoided is definitely better for anyone.

Romba correct... I dont understand their justification for eating outside and comparing India to it 😮😮
@SummerIsFun2024Ай бұрын
Good one 👍
@Priya-ve2nhАй бұрын
@@Lux1430 exactly. Kids in N.American are not fond of Indian food. I agree. But what's the solution to that? You have to make sandwiches, wraps and other Continental and maybe other cuisine dishes to promote healthy eating. Eating a large plate of brown rice everyday isn't exactly healthy. I don't know why people blindly agree to everything someone says. I don't even care about adults, they are old enough to make good choices. But our kids need to be taught to eat at home, healthy and good food. I have never seen a salad in their video or reel.. and they live in US.. you have to adapt to the food culture as well. atleast teach the kids to cook and eat..It's not rocket science.. and people in Indian can eat whatever they want.. they will deal with the consequence.. health care is very expensive everywhere. It's always better to know the name of ingredients in our food..
@Lux1430Ай бұрын
@@Priya-ve2nh True...points 👌👌 And they r asking do people in India dont eat outside ?? Y every tym that comparison is not known 🤔😂😂 And I was taken aback by their justification of eating food outside.... Free promotions for eating outside 🙄

Eating outside is absolutely fine but there has to be some limitations like during one day a week. my kids love panda express but once in a while its ok. Frequent eating of fried chicken with added msg will cause harm to our system . I felt whenever i eat thai foods,biryani i feel thristy its bcoz of the high amout of salt and preservatives.But the same food when prepared at home i dont feel thristy .We dont know what kind of oil they use . American food is only junk .Not only american outside food itself has got ill effects .You are saying ppl are getting burgers in queues but you didnt mention abt the auto immune diseases and cancer rates.so i think once in a while eating outside food is good but frequent eating will lead to so many troubles.
