What year would you have liked to see Elvis in concert? Let us know below!
@elvisfan612 жыл бұрын
My family and I saw Elvis in Vegas 4 times between 1971-1976. The late 60s, early 70's are my favorite Elvis years, but how great would it have been to see him when he was just hitting it big in 1955 or 1956? I'm (finally!) reading Peter Guralnick's Last Train To Memphis and the descriptions he gives of those shows makes me feel like I was right there when it was happening.

@@croftonjohn4466 Elvis Presley didn't need to leave the United States to become the most famous person in the world. According to global surveys that were last conducted in 2018, Elvis always won these surveys 99% of the time (just read up). The last big one was from the BBC in 2018 (or 2014). Elvis Presley has been considered an absolute global magastar since the 1950s (there are a lot of original reports about this). The fact that Elvis only performed in the USA has nothing to do with his success. It was the decision of his manager, who didn't want a world tour. There were many offers from Europe and Asia offering a lot of money for Elvis to give concerts outside of the USA. The nonsense that Elvis is supposedly only famous in the USA/Europe only comes from jealous Michael Jackson fans who simply have no idea about music history. My tip: Take a look at KZbin or other channels: people from all over the world (including many young people) love Elvis Presley and listen to his music there and say good things about him. At Graceland (up to a million visitors every year) there are special tours just for very young Elvis fans. The majority of visitors (from all over the world) are under 35 years old. Just inform yourself before you write anything.

Oh, there's definitely a pic of Michael with Lisa Marie that is of quality and full color! It use to be around but I don't know where in terms of media! It was quite funny as Michael was smiling (basically just for the camera) and Lisa Marie looked completely uninterested like she'd rather be anywhere but. I think it was just another day at her dad's office as far as she was concerned at that point in time, lol. Give her break though as she was just five o.k., eh! Lol. :)

Linda Thompson has said before on Instagram or Twitter that the J5 met with Elvis in his suite once and that there was a pic taken of them all together including with Linda in it but that she doesn't know who has the pic now. I think she said she had been shown the pic many years ago by someone when she and her ex wrote Man In The Mirror for MJ. It's probably in private hands these days. You would think Lisa would like to own it.

@@mikem957: Did Linda really say it? I've never heard of that. Elvis met an incredible number of famous people: including hundreds of black people (artists, civil rights activists, actors, etc.). Elvis also had a lot of friends among the black population. But as far as I know, Elvis and the Jackson five or Michael Jackson never met in person. except at the LV concert, where Elvis introduced the J5.
