I believe that she was the innocent party in all of this. It seems very clear from her words that Diane felt betrayed by Charles and clearly offended by both of them. Ironic that they are now king and queen consort. Very ironic.

@@graemechristopher4008 Prince Charles wanted his mummy and papa to except Camilla into the royal family and it seems as though they didn’t want to but he stopped asking them to and just forced them to so it doesn’t sound like Prince Charles would have done whatever he needed to do to make Camilla be excepted into the Royals family. If he would have done that from the beginning but for some reason he and Camilla weren’t interested in having children together wondering if they may have been kin. But The way I see it is William and Henry Charles wasn’t ever going to have any half siblings from their father or mother and someone needed to make sure of that.

She had a strong personality and a very sharp sense of duty. Proof of that is how she had such a tremendous influence over the establishment, even for a newcomer that was constantly pushed back by the Windsors and bullied by the media. She rose above it all. She was a threat to how things had been working for centuries. She overshadowed the royal family even after being way out of it. Queen Elizabeth II herself bowing at Diana's funeral is proof enough of her undeniable impact and sovereignty. She never bowed to anyone in else in her entire reign, not even to Margareth Thatcher with whom she had a similar relationship and also broke protocol for. That gesture was from one reigning queen to another. Nothing but respect for Diana from my side.

I really don't think that they (the royal family) ever thought that Diana would fight for herself and her marriage. I think they thought because she was so much younger, that she would tow the line, so to speak. Just because Diana was raised an aristocrat, doesn't mean that she should have known better and accepted her lot in life, allowing Charles to see Camilla the way he continued to do throughout his marriage to Diana. He should have never married her. Camilla should have divorced her first husband, then married Charles. The way things have progressed over the years, it most likely would have been accepted. Look at his sister, Princess Anne. She remarried in Scotland. And at least Andrew and Sarah remain on good terms, and were successful in raising their two daughters, despite their own divorce. And both of Diana's family and Sarah's Dad had close, long standing connection with the royal family. The Spencer family especially.

Charles treated her like dirt but the fact is that this sort of thing has been going on with European Royalty, and especially British Royalty, for untold ages. I'm not condoning it but Charles thought it was his right and in a very real way, it was. Diana was something of a Noble or aristocrat so she had to have known the score. She did not deserve the craziness in her life but she was not a strong woman. Her life was certainly quite tragic and in her neurotic way she brought some of it on herself.

She was younger than me. I then told my boyfriend promptly and he was infuriated that I was trying to upset something he thought we were past. I wasn’t, and he wasn’t being honest with me even after it had allegedly been over. I realized years later in therapy that I was going along with it because I didn’t know how to end the relationship, not to mention said HS BF and the girl were still hanging out with each other and were friendly to my chagrin. My mother later told me I was brave and reminded her of my grandma’s youngest sister, who confronted my grandpa’s affair partner and dumped a box of files on her head, because they worked in the same office, and chewed out my grandpa to no end. This Diana tape was a comfort to me in helping me let go of that HS relationship

Mandi, cheating is bad no matter what. But, cheating in a marriage with children is worse than cheating in a marriage without children. It hurts just the same no matter what, but when children are involved- they are dragged into it and suffer as well. The children have to go through it too and have to live through the unhappy reality of having a cheating parent and their parents’ failing marriage (Though divorce is much better and happier than only staying together for the sake of the children). It leaves a lasting effect on kids, and then even more people end up suffering than just the couple. Until now I can't get over yet with sadness with the fate Princess D had gone thru. It always scratch my heart everytime I bump into media her life story. She's really innocent when she got married, not just physically but morally, emotionally and mentally. And I felt sorry for the two Princes esp. Me Ann The only wonderful things that came out of her union with Charles, were her two beautiful boys. I'm glad that they still retain her influence in their lives, considering that they were both still fairly young when she passed away, far too soon. Drunk driver, no proper security detail, high speed, and the paparazzi all contributed to her untimely death. If only she had been wearing her seat belt, I wonder if she would have survived. And, if transported to the hospital asap, as they do here in the States. I can't believe that they were so close to a hospital, yet it took well over an hour or more to get her there? That part doesn't make sense to me.

I am NOT a fan of Charles nor Camilla but I don't think this is why Camilla won't be queen. Like Kate Middleton and Meaghan Markle, I don't think Camilla has "royal blood" in her nor did her family have a title given by the British throne throughout history. Therefore, she cannot be called "princess, queen" or "your Highness or your Majesty". She can only be called "Duchess" or "consort of..." :)
