Today myself, Dave Outdoors and another colleague, Rich from Wild Astro started on the second part of the multi day route called the 'Heart of Wales Line Trai'l. We walked from the end of section one, Broome down to Bucknell using the Heart of Wales Line train service to get to the start. Todays route is 14 1/2km (just over 10 miles).
We intend to tackle the whole route over the course of the year and will make these videos as we go to hopefully encourage others to do the same.
This is a new walking trail that utilises the beautiful single-track railway route that runs from Shrewsbury all the way down to Swansea. The trail officially starts at Craven Arms and is 144 miles long to Llanelli in South Wales.
See the Heart of Wales Line website here for up to date timetables: www.heart-of-w...
Please visit the Heart of Wales Line Trail website for more information. www.heart-of-w...
They also have a facebook group for the trail which you can join: / heartofwaleslinetrail
There you can download the GPX files for your navigation device. My preferred method is to use an app called Viewranger which you can download onto your phone and the route is also available on there.
