Welcome to your heart-opening yoga class for good posture, this vinyasa sequence truly is the ultimate poor posture fix! Practice this sequence regularly to start seeing improvements in your posture and overall well-being.
We will focus on strengthening the muscles that contribute to better posture:
* Working on Core Strength. Not only the abdominal muscles but also the spine (back muscles) and hip flexors that make up the torso and contribute to good posture.
We will also focus on stretching out muscles that when tight cause poor posture:
#Stretching out the Shoulders and chest. When these vital muscles are tight they tend to pull us into a rounded position through the shoulders leading to tension and pain in the neck and even causing headaches.
Stretching hips flexors and quads. When tight these powerful muscles pull us into a hunched position due to tension in those areas, leading to hip and lower back pain after a day of sitting at the desk.
Having a straighter posture helps you stand taller, sit with comfort and ease on any surface, even the ground. Good posture helps you feel more confident and powerful in your physical body. But best of all good posture reduces pain and tension, as the surrounding core muscles are strong enough to hold you straight, and the tension from tight muscles is released allow that range of motion.
This is the perfect yoga flow for all levels including beginner as pose options and modifications are offered throughout the sequence. Desk workers and absolutely anyone no matter what line of work or even during retirement will benefit from improved alignment.

I am really enjoying your classes! I like that you hold the poses longer than in many other yoga videos I've seen. It's a challenge mostly for my mind and I know it's good for me. Also love your calm energy. Thank you!

Thank you for the much needed yoga sequence to open the heart. At the latest after the reverse tabletop, which I could really feel in my shoulders, I realised how bad my posture was at my desk. But I enjoyed rolling back and forth on my back all the more. After the great session, I spent a few minutes doing supported fish pose - now everything is sufficiently stretched. 😘🙏🏻🧘🏼‍♀
