The theme of this song is the last verse. She was already with another man, probably married, and she says what he couldn't give me, was the one little thing that you can. This means he couldn't give her a child so she would pick up men and take them to the hotel to try to get pregnant. It was by chance they met in the future as it looks like he's a car repair man and she's at the shop dropping off her car. It's a great song, one of my favs.

Ann actually hated this song and wouldn't do it live for many years even though this was a major hit for them. She didn't like the message of the song and thought it made women look bad. She later changed the lyrics slightly and performed it live again! The guy wasn't a male prostitute, just a guy she picked up. Her partner, maybe her husband, wasn't able to produce kids so she turned to a stranger whom she ran into accidentally later on. Awesome song and video in my opinion!!!

Ah what an anthem. This was a hit but the lyrics were controversial. Society still had huge problems with a woman being sexually free. It is a great song from a great band. And hurray for Mike's hair. Please don't hide it again.
