I really enjoyed the new "Striper Dave" channel. I think it is a good idea to have the clicker on so we can tell when the fish are pulling line out. With no sound it is hard to tell if they are just pulling rod down or stealing line too. Great video. I always retie before starting a new day on the water. I retie after each good size fish too. Loved the weepin' steel while you were weepin' about the stiped suit fish. LOL

Tug boat pushing a barge normally don't make much wake but they can have a lot of ground swell. But u have a good size boat and you should be fine. I'm in a boat every day in South Louisiana. I bought the Tactical Angler's Power Clips from Amazon.com. They come in different weight ranges and the no. per package. I rig a leader with hook (and sometimes a bobber) to the TAPC and since I make several leaders up at a time, my change out from a worn to a new leader only takes seconds. Beats cutting off the old, tying on a hook, and tying the leader to my swivel in the rain or wind or a rocking boat or after dark, or in the cold.

Here n the Truman lake area we have not any or very few stripers. The last striper I caught (only striper) was back in 1998. I was fishing with chicken liver believe me or not and caught a 20 pound striper. It was fun.
