They do become the forgotten ones. Be it that they never married, married never had children and the lost their spouse. They grow old and neglected. Forgotten and they loose themselves too much to do and no way to be able to take care of it. They become fearful and saddened. I am only 68, but I am very aware of what is getting away from me, and how difficult it is to care for my yard and gardens. Circumstances made me have to go back to work after hip replacements, and don't get me wrong, I am glad for it! But I do understand how a person can be ill and have their yard and garden get to the point of despair. You and your Dad have been able to go in and clear the way for those like Sheila and Norman to regain the self respect and have a joy for their home and gardens again. It may seem small to some, but it is a huge thing for many. To see you reclaim a space they thought lost forever. Thank you for what you do, who you are, and the energy, spirit, and soul you put into these transformations that you do! God bless you and stay safe, be well, and I'll be glad to keep watching. Prayers to you and yours.

She should sell the car as it’s obvious she’s not driving it anymore. I know it’s difficult to give things up. I’m 81 and disabled by severe arthritis and heart failure. I didn’t renew my licence when it expired on my birthday last September. I feel it’s not safe to drive when you have heart problems. But it was a difficult decision to make as I have lost my independence.

Oooh yes, i remember when my father in law died, my husband and i cleaned up his Tool shed, Garage and back Yard (to help my mother in law), we also found a car AND Pool in the back Yard. And they were only in their 50's. Amazing, isnt it. I had then put in flower beds and a fountain. A year later i went to visit (live in a different country) and it looked the same as it did before the Clean up. But really good job guys!

You give yourself away as being from the USA by referring to 'her yard' what in the UK is only known as a garden. A yard in the UK is what is found on very small terraced old houses (pre 1st World War) which is a rear outside area and 100% hard paved.

As a 78 year old widower (24 years this month) I can attest to how hard it is to try and maintain a property what used to take both me and my late blessing from God to to do. None of our kids live close by so it's all up to me now and what few handymen I can afford to hire. There are a few days each month when my body will actually allow me to get out and enjoy working on the house and yards but for most days I am house bound. I can almost fully understand how this lady feels and I am so grateful that you and your dad chose to help her. What a great gift you two gave her.

Thank you for the video. If I were in Sheila's place, I would be torn between gratitude over the increadible help and guilt over the sheer amount of work that was needed and probably still is needed... It helps a little to feel less embarrassed that people consider this satisfying. It's probably still an increadible amount of work. When me or my brother had asked my mom for help as a kid, she usually went with "sort out your problems yourself" and saying that she is doing this to rise us to be independent... When my cousin had her birthday after not seeing her for the covid-years, I realised that she was independent. She had become an adult while we didn't see each other. And I noticed that she had actually been taught how to deal with problems and how to get help. My uncle invested a lot more energy into rising her than mom did with me and my brother. And it showed. It was a different situation, having 2 parents and an only-child is very different from 2 children with a single mom. The part that mom did this to teach us independence sounds still like a bad lie to me, though. Teaching independence is a whole lot of work. And to be fair, teaching was really not her strong suit ever. Have a great weekend too and be sure to take enough rest. Best wishes from europe

Ben what an amazing transformation. I wonder why Sheila's neighbors did not help her out, when their own lawns and yards were well maintained. Knowing that Sheila is so elderly and could not do this on her own, it's a pity that they do not have the same hearts like you Ben and your father. Watching you and your father working together is a treat to watch, especially when you are having fun together. But I must say, that it's so heartening to see a father being with his son and helping him out in his work. I don't know if your father did this gardening work before, but he is certainly very good and meticulous in his work. I can see where your loving and helping nature comes from, its from your father, who has brought you up good. And I can see you translating the same to your sons, by being a good father to them as well. You and your father are angels, Bless you both, and may the Almighty always bless you both with good health and happiness. I love watching your videos, shows that the world still have some amazing souls, who help others in need. 💕💕💕💕💕💕

She was so shocked looking outside her back door! I have fingers crossed that she will have some safety hand rails to step out into her yard 🤞💰🤞. maybe we could raise enough for a wonderful little patio seat set for her when she wants some sunshine and some tea. I've joined your patreon page and am so glad to help! YOU GUYS ARE SOOOOO STINKIN AWESOME!!! Some people don't have family, or family that have moved away and can't easily get to help. Or, in cases like mine with my mum - only me to help her (and I chose to not have kids, so no grandkids), and getting no support from anything official (It's like getting blood out a stone with Bexley council, I even called the council leader about her, and still got nothing at all!)... And us children also have our own lives to live and jobs to sustain :-( It's all horrible...

One of her neighbors commented on the last video. Apparently she’s been adamantly refusing help for years, and it’s a senior neighborhood. Getting her to accept of the neighbors doing the grocery shopping for her was already a massive chore apparently, so you can imagine how stubborn she was! The younger neighbors have finally convinced her to get help with the garden, she described it as “softening her up” which speaks volumes. Old people can be lovely, but don’t forget they can be extremely prideful and stubborn, and you can’t just trespass into a neighbor’s property to do their chores for them. That would get the police called on you and rightly so! As for family, who knows. Some people just don’t have anyone left.
