And with the bad economy many seniors cannot afford to hire out jobs. Thank you Ben and Paul for giving this man an assist!
@tonyedgecombe66319 ай бұрын
In general seniors are fine during a bad economy, their pensions have kept pace with inflation and they don't need to worry about being laid off. It's the younger generation that bears the brunt of a recession. They have to pay higher interest rates on their mortgage and deal with rising child care costs.
@librarynan46109 ай бұрын
@@tonyedgecombe6631 You are delusional. Pensions stay the same while the cost of living goes up. Social Security stays the same while the cost of living goes up. Seniors are the first group to feel the effects of a bad economy like we have now. Young people can and are working more to one job. Seniors are the ones deciding between food or medicine.
@tonyedgecombe66319 ай бұрын
@@librarynan4610 I'm guessing you aren't from the UK as the state pension here goes up by the highest of inflation, wage increases or 2.5%. It's called the triple lock. @@tonyedgecombe6631Well, here in Cda the seniors’ benefits have NOT kept pace w inflation. I have had a 7$ increase in pension last year, NO free prescriptions OR dental OR vision BUT my electric + gas has practically doubled. Have decreased to one meal/day to keep costs down. I earn my living as a dog walker and I like to do occasional walks for free for some of my customers, I also charge some of my older customers up to 40% less then I do others as well as free walks. I don’t do this to make myself feel good but to make others feel good. It’s good for the soul of all those involved. People’s time is essentially free, it’s down to the individual as to whether they put a price on it or not. In an age when lots of us can give back because of how relatively well off we are compared to most of the world then why wouldn’t you? I’m a firm believe that we are all here to be of service to one another in some way no matter what we do and some times just being a good human being transcends money. You two gents are a an amazing example of all of that.
