i think opening stove's door while damper is closed can release a lot of smoke into the room...nevertheless it seems to be a really efficient wood stove.

Hi Tim- I am looking at the Tula and while I love the look I want to make sure it is a good stove that will work for our space. I appreciate your posting these videos and I've read your thread on Hearth.com. Did you ever get the heat and fire control figured out? Are you happy with your stove? I would appreciate any and all feedback as I look at making this big purchase. Thanks!

Hey there. Yes I figured it out, its probably just the way the stove is meant to work. These are high efficency stoves, and they aren't meant to let wood sit there and smolder. You just need to make sure that once the fire is nice and hot, that you put larger logs in, and I'd say no more than 2 at a time. Thinner logs tend to go up in roaring flames, even with the inlet air all the way as low as it goes. Yes I like the stove a lot. I'm using it right now. It heats up quick, looks really awesome and is easy to operate. If you want it to heat up a large single floor living space or a single room its really good for that. I don't think its the kind of stove you put wood in and expect to still have a fire going 6 hours later. I've had it burn an hour or two on some larger oak logs, but thats about it. I think its more of a stove for just localized heat while you are watching TV. I do like it though yes, glad I bought it.
