It's the representative. The dealer's website gives you the option of buying online. There is no way out of doing the deal online.

@@pereztango2840 no, it’s not the rep. At my last job, the website said that we did reservations at my restaurant, but the manager told me that we didn’t. Literally nothing I can do. Arguing with me would be a waste of time for whoever is on the phone

This is the same thing happened to me here at local Dealership in our area. I am trying to negotiate price over the phone before I come in, but they said I have to come in. Stupid me because I am interested on the car, went to the dealership and it was a nightmare. They pulled different interest rates on me which is higher than the website offer and kept bouncing around. I finally walked off and called other dealerships. Within 5 mins, a dealership from 100 miles away offered $5500 off with same options as the one from local dealership. Did all paper work over phone and online, then picked up the car next day. Buying the car from dealership took me a fraction of the time compared to negotiating with local dealership lol

Wow she was patient and polite with you! I would have rudely asked you what part of "if you want to negotiate the price price you have to come to the showroom do you not understand? do you want me to talk with your responsible adult to explain to them?"
@Delivrd2 ай бұрын
So when I agreed to buy the car at full sticker, thats just different right? Why in the world should I have to go into a showroom to buy a car that isn't there? Why have the option to buy online that doesn't work?

I don't mind walking into a dealership. My number one leverage is I can walk away and I don't take BS add ons and will walk away from a dealership if they are trying to rope me in on any add ons. I've done it before and they dig deeper and come to my terms.

I bought a Tacoma yesterday they wouldn’t tell be dealer invoice price for 20 min after I asked for it. Then they yelled at me when I tried to get the best price possible. I got a good deal, I’m not a sucker and that frustrated them. Dealer add ins were 5k no thanks that’s not happening. Then I pushed for lower rates and a lower rprice and a higher trade in value. I got everything I wanted and now have a really cool 2024 Tacoma red off road. I’ve been watching car buying bods for years for fun and yestwrsay it saved me several thousand dollars :)

So this video was somehow suggested by youtube. I just wasted my time watching him conduct business antagonizing a dealership for views. He could have easily moved on to the next dealership but he needsd views first - dont waste people's time. If they dont want to sell , move on...
@Delivrd3 ай бұрын
What? I am not antagonizing anything for "views" I am doing my job. My client wanted this exact car from this exact dealership. I already had a deal negotiated at another dealership that would be here in 3 weeks. Their baby was born earlier than expected and they asked me to make a call for them to see if they could get this car. Even agreed to pay MSRP. How in ANY WORLD did I antagonize a dealership? Because I asked for MSRP? Because I asked them to buy a car? Why is the answer that we should just be ok with dealerships making our life difficult to buy a car?

I used to work for a high-volume dealership so I do feel for the rep, because sometimes the management straight will not entertain working the out the door over the phone unless it's out of state - however, if someone says "I'll buy it at MSRP" I'm going to my manager and saying "they want to buy at MSRP, I just need a full worksheet," so I think that part is inexcusable - at the very least they could have said "Hey we're a high volume Toyota store, we get a lot of business daily, we just don't have enough time to work this without you here" - I don't have that problem now because it's a lower volume dealership than that one, so we have the bandwidth to do online/over the phone deals. It's super fucking frustrating when I blow my time on it and they don't reply after I send numbers, but it's always worth a shot On the other hand, they advertise Online Buying (my current dealership has an online-only rep so I could send it that way if need be), so they should make it possible to do that or take it off the site. I just couldn't believe that once they heard "I'll buy at MSRP that's it," that they still went with saying they have to come in

I understand scammy dealership policies but I don't think you needed to start cussing out some young receptionist lady answering calls and following company rules just trying to keep her job. That wasn't all that cool. She was completely respectful.
