Great idea. I use a sous vide controller mounted on the side to regulate temp. Same idea. PBW should definitely be above 120 or so to be most effective.

How come the plastic doesn't melt as it's almost touching the element?

I'm pretty sure the water insulates it, or something like that lol. I heated the water all the way to 180f no issues.
