The issue with trying to debate Nunez is people don't actually watch every Liverpool game, so the perception is he only misses good chances. Ignoring the fact he still hit double figures last season despite injuries and being rotated a lot, he causes more issues for defences than any other striker in the league that isn't Haaland. Go watch the Villa game last month and ask Pau Torres if he'd rather play against Darwin or Watkins, I guarantee he's picking Watkins 99 times out of 100.

Also scored against Arsenal, City (and assisted) and Real Madrid last season. You can be as solid as you want but he's quicker, stronger and jumps higher than most defenders, which means it's the solid defences he usually does well against. Can't remember a defence that actually kept him quiet, he always gets himself 1 good chance a game. This season he's becoming more clinical and if he does get 20+ goals this season (already on 4 in 3 starts) then it won't even be an argument he's at least top 5

Not Haaland - he is bang average converting his xG to goals in EPL and was slightly above average in Bundeslega - and not even Kane who were pretty good at 181.91 xG leading to 210 goals which came are out to 15% above average. Jesus is terrible. Played 6 years getting fed by silver platter from KBD and never finished plus xG NEVER scored 15 goals in a league. Total goals score for 7 years are 69 where an average footballer should've scored 92.23 goals. That is two standard deviation worse than average.

Exactly, sometimes I can’t listen to Theo talk ball because he constantly contradicts himself trying to be right. The striker scores first and foremost. I’m a city fan, i fucking love Gabby still, realistically as a striker he simply is not clinical enough. There are different types of strikers. Strikers like haaland are mainly there to score goals and be a target man but strikers like Jesus can be seen as false 9 sort of strikers who offer a lot of things haaland doesn’t.
