No one at O'Reilly's had any idea what that plastic reducer between the metal pipe and rubber hose was. And it only looked as a part of the entire assyl. Thanks to your excellent video and detailed explanations I can replace and reroute my leaky "plastic " part with your idea and work around.

Thank you for this video. You made it look so easy, I just had to try it. Changed the back tee with parts from Home Depot and heater hose from Autozone. The hardest part (and it wasn't really that hard), was cutting the old hose. Was able to do the whole job for under $10.00. I saved myself a lot of money thanks to you. Thanks again!

Thanks for the video, used to fix same day without any hassle. The shots of the parts at the hardware store were much appreciated - made things painless.

Thank you for this. Our van was losing so much coolant the engine might have failed. I will replace both plastic parts and not worry anymore. Yes the hardware shots helped.

Thanks for the great video! There are a ton of videos for the other y-pipe but not this rear one. I wasn't sure about the quick-disconnect fitting but your video showed me exactly what I needed. Also, thanks for sharing the part info for the T fitting. Worked perfectly.

DUDE...you saved my ass. This was an AMAZING video. I had the same back one go out on me. I fixed it and saved money thanks to you. I think I will replace the other "Y" to be on the safe side. I figure if one went out, the other one probably is not far behind.

You sir just saved me close to $200 dollars in parts if I was to order the whole assembly at the dealer parts counter plus the wait, because they had to order the thing. Crazy. $20.00 plus in hose, clamps and top off coolant and I have money left over to spend this weekend. Thanks!

My 2013 Grand Caravan has a 90degrees elbow coming out to the rear y lines. I cut an 2 1/2 inch line and connected that to outlet line, then I went to O’Reilley’s and bought a 90 degrees high temp elbow and followed the rest of your instructions. Just wanted to share that bit of info for anyone with a similar system as mine

Thanks! I also did this fix for the front tee about three years ago, and now I see some slight seepage at the rear tee, so I will replace that! I have a 2008 grand caravan with the 3.3 liter engine. I did the fix. I found that it was easiest to first cut the top two connections to the hoses next to the top of the Y. Then you can squeeze the white taps on the connector on the bottom hose that fits to the aluminum pipe and twist and remove that piece. I did not push the rubber hose over the bump in the bottom aluminum tube. That seemed too hard and unnecessary, as the original piece does not go over that bump, and there is plenty of room for a hose clamp on the aluminum tube above the bump.

Thanks for the fix/tip for the back hose! A while back I had used the trick to fix the front hose but the back hose started giving me problems not long ago. To fix the issue, I spent $109 on Dorman part# 626-307HP and after a couple of months it started giving me problems at the lower connector, the heater hose seems to come lose frequently, its emptied my antifreeze on two occasions. Now I will try your fix shown here. Again, thanks a ton.

Thanks for the video....going to do this on my 2010 T&C the only difference instead of a (T) connect I'm going to use a (Y) connect for a little less binding on the hoses and better antifreeze flow.

Hello I have had that failed as well as the metal piece has broken and I’m trying to figure out what the metal pipe is called. I got the stuff for the y but need to find that long line so I can replace it because sadly it broke off to far up the line.

Fine outcome. But I would advise everyone who watches these videos, Not to cut the hose, but the 1-1/4" abs clamps. This would ensure you the proper size hose. In other words, cut the black plastic clamps carefully thru the middle, (I used dremel tool w/ cutting blade) without cutting into the hose material. Also, Never use those "Screw-type" clamps, use original pressure-adjusting clamps. Mechanics would know, that all these heat channeling hoses expand, and the clamp needs to expand with them. That's why this design

The fitting on the metal tube has white plastic tabs you just have to squeeze them together and wiggle it off the metal pipe.

Unfortunately I came across this video after I bought the repair kit for the 2012 T&C from eBay for thirty bucks which comes with a metal Y instead of the garbage plastic one that cracks over time. What I didn't notice in your video was how the heck do you get that old plastic snap on L fitting off? That's the one that I wanted to start off with first since the other ends are squeeze hose clamps.
