Low on cash? We take a moist towel, put it in the microwave until real hot. Then we wrap it in a dry towel and apply to affected area. Good cheap results.

Brad Heineck!!! I finally figured out where I knew you from! I was the girl at the ski hill rental shop tonight who said I knew you from somewhere! I knew it had to be the therapy field, then I figured it out on my drive home tonight! I’ve watched so many of your videos throughout the past 4 years! They help everyone - from patients to clinicians. Keep making great videos!

Point of Order: Correct terms are important. Conduction - transfer of heat through physical contact. Convection - transfer of heat through forced or flowing air/water/other "fluids".

I bought one of these because of your previous video. I had never heard of them. I just now see that one can remove the outer material to wash it. I do not know if it's washer safe, yet. Mine was the $99 model. Second from the largest, I think. I wanted the largest but couldn't fit it into my budget. Just for anyone who's trying to decide, only the largest one can bend, at the "hinges". When using on your back while sitting, don't have the brand logo upright as that position will cause stress on the cord. Just turn it sideways.

Nice review guys thank you for your knowledge and time. Well, I've suffer from chronic lower back pain that renders muscles extremely tensed when standing for long. Because the heat levels in an electric heated pad aren't that much for my situation, I therefore use two high quality heated pads (separate brands) by doubling them with a pillow case sandwiched between them just to avoid physical contact which could trigger their overheating sensors to kick in. I've stitched all together using a needle and thread. Guess what? It works!! The intensity of heat when kept to highest settings of both pads really (sometimes unbearably) penetrates my entire lower back, sides and butt muscles. It soothes and relieving the excruciating pains instantly. I feel so relaxed and drowsy then falling asleep in the process. I have to adjust temperature levels depending on how I feel every time. Heat intensity last around 30 minutes then starts to decline. I simply switch them off to cool for 20 or so minutes and back on again. This is only suitable for people with chronic lower back pains who need deeper heat penetration. You could even triple pads for more. One thing to be aware of is that you're in total control because heat is emitted based on your settings.. no risk at all.

Is there some scientific proof that these infrared heat pads work 10 times deeper than a normal pad? I would like to know what is in these pads that makes the magic happen. It is a pad, it doesn't work like a radiant or infrared heater, I am curious how it works since it costs 10 times the price of a heating pad.

I have been going to physical therapy but my left leg I still can’t pick it up to walk. I had the nerve test and he said one of the pinched nerves comes down my leg and that is why I have drop foot So I will have that rest of my life. But I need to be able to pick up my leg to walk. Do y’all recommend the infrared heating pad with stones in it or without. Thank y’all for all you do!!

Hydrocollator packs are the gold standard and can easily be used at home by boiling the bag in a large pasta pot and simply wrapping in towels after it's been drained. The heat will hold for ages, it's safe and easy to use and INEXPENSIVE!! I'd love to try the intfra-red but was shocked at the price of this device that you guys are shilling here. You're terrific PT's, so why are you suddenly and so obviously pushing one product over another, when the gold standard deserves major kudos, no matter what other products hit the market. No problem if you guys are trying to make a buck, more power to you, as you work hard and produce valuable videos for us, but PLEASE continue to respect your loyal viewers enough and give us the credit due, that we are not idiots...we see through the hucksterism for what it is. It would be much more ethical for you to simply present the three different methods and offer your professional opinions, without PUSHING the costly infra-red version as the sole way to go. It's paying your bills, that's good news, but it'll break the bank for the rest of us and it's not a method that'll ever stand up to the simple genius of moist heat. Best to simply be honest and tell us the truth - that you've long used the gold standard because it's still a great treatment...but that you've now got this awesome additional choice that you can heartily recommend for those of us who would like to give it a try. Simple as that. GIve it a thumbs up (if you truthfully believe in the quality of the product) but please don't diss a major winner like moist heat! Dishonesty is not a good look on you. You were one of the few "good guys" out there...Geez, guys...you were so trustworthy, 'til now.

Damn near wonder if this a a good Idea. Also. It says it goes to 150 degrees. But as I read. It says anything over 113 can fry you. Herniated C3, C4, C5, C6. What's my safest temp and time. Application. Thx

Two questions. First, what about thermophores vs heating pads? I use a thermophore in my clinic because it heats so much faster, and as you mentioned the moist heat feels much more penetrating (it's like the poor man's hydrocollator). I notice a much greater therapeutic benefit on my own DDD symptoms compared to heating pads. Second question is have you heard anything about the type of energy emitted by far-infrared devices vs near infrared? I've recently read research papers on far infrared vs near infrared saunas, and the prevailing medical impression is that far infrared therapy should be avoided because the wavelengths are most closely related to the energy emitted from cellphones etc., which has proven to be physiologically harmful. I was disappointed to read this, as I've been a big fan of far infrared saunas (now I've switched to near infrared bulb saunas). Thanks for your videos, and I look forward to your reply.

Really like your videos. Is there a heating pad style where you can sit on it? I have left hip pain. The electric style has flexibility and I coujld fold it around the hip and sit bones. But directions say do not sit on it or crush it. The infrared model you have is rigid. I could sit on that (if you are "allowed" to). and use something else for the lower back at the same time? Can that be done?

Thank you :). I'm 3 months after breaking my elbow. Was in a cast up till mid November, started physio in December. My arm is still bent at 40° extension and 100° flexion. I seen your video of extension of arm.... can you help with flexion on elbow? Idea for a video in future :). Thank you.
