That is a very nice looking training area. Nice vid too. I was doing something similar earlier today, though without the round house as a part of the combo. It's my first day back to working out in awhile so I share your excitement here too XD

+SirMysk Spot on Mysk! That's great you're back training too mate! Where you also injured?
@FrazzleCat8 жыл бұрын
+Mixed Martial Lee Ⓥ It's a bit cringe worthy so if you're squeamish you'll want to skip this comment. Basically I had some bleeding in my gut or such and lost a lot of blood for a couple of days so I had to see a surgeon. They put me under and ran some cameras into me. The good news is that they ruled out the worse possibilities. I avoided any form of exercise for maybe a couple of months? Around about that long.
@MixedMartialHelp8 жыл бұрын
+SirMysk Ahhhh mate that sounds like a right experience! Really glad to hear that you're easing back into training though, a few months out is never great! How is your health now?
@FrazzleCat8 жыл бұрын
+Mixed Martial Lee Ⓥ It certainly was an experience. My health is so-so now. There are no more signs of the problem, thankfully, but just to be certain that I don't revisit the issue I am taking baby steps with returning to training. I suspect that an ulcer was more of the culprit than anything else. I can't workout today though since we have tornados rolling through the area. Take a look at U.S. radar if you're curious and want to watch something a bit crazy.

Is the base fully filled with sand/water? I seem like it move alot when you are hitting it?
@MixedMartialHelp7 жыл бұрын
w8t2009 Yeah these are filled with water, sand can be a really bad clean up job on the mats!
@w8t20097 жыл бұрын
Cleaning is the last problem. My biggerst concern is that the base moves around too much even though the based is fully filled. So this base in your movie is really fully filled? Because to me, it moves way to much
@MixedMartialHelp7 жыл бұрын
w8t2009 Cleaning is an issue when you have a full time school with 200+ members, if it's not a concern for you, go ahead and use sand, you will get about 30% extra weight. In my experience it will still move somewhat. If you want the heaviest bag, then go for a hanging bag. Although even a 30 stone bag moves when you hit it.

What bag is that please, I'm looking for a freestanding bag that is sturdy? Thanks
@MixedMartialHelp8 жыл бұрын
Hey Gattsu, it's a Wavemaster 2XL, can't remember exactly which model (I think they only change the design on the cover so long as it's an XXL), but these are great standing bags.
@Gattsu19868 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much, I will look into getting one of these, do you think this is suitable for a flat (ground floor). Cheers :)
@MixedMartialHelp8 жыл бұрын
Np my friend. Flat floor is perfect for these and I've had a friend who even had it on his slightly uneven grass garden. They are best on mats but are fine even on wooden floors and the ground outside, the bases are pretty hard wearing. Pro tip: Make sure you have a hose pipe and funnel ready to fill the base with water, it's basically impossible without :P

Thanks a lot bro, appreciate the feedback! Loving your videos too man, I've subscribed, will put my new bag to the test and check out some of your techniques :)

hey hi Lee :D thanks for the awesome video. Not sure what's the best way to get your attention and ask this question: your round kick is awesome. I want a round kick just like yours. Could you please break it down? perhaps shoot at a really high frame rate so we can see it in slow motion detail? I'm thinking you have super strong hip abductors and hip flexors (to bear the weight of your fully extended leg, and control your kicking leg so well through the entire movement). Am I right? Can you show us in detail? Thanks so much for all of the awesome videos!
@MixedMartialHelp8 жыл бұрын
+kaiwinbot Yo Kaiwin! Thanks for the awesome comment mate. My roundhouse is a blend between Muay Thai, Karate and Taekwondo type kicking. I'll put something together soon, I actually have access to pretty good equipment, should be able to shoot some nice high fps and high resolution stuff in May. Your right about hip strength, I recommend the Taekwondo approach using plenty of slow controlled kicking for that.

ANOTHER FREE STANDING BAG WHICH WON'T LET YOU DO ANY LOW LEG KICKS!!
@MixedMartialHelp7 жыл бұрын
Dave the base of this bag comes to below my knee, I can do leg kicks on here no problem. How tall/short are you? You can get smaller bags with lower bases. To be fair, I can kick lower on this than some hanging bags which are a foot or so off the ground.
Yout legs will be sorry for thar stance against a real muay thai fighter
@MixedMartialHelp4 жыл бұрын
I fought Muay Thai plenty of times, you are wrong. Thanks for the concern though. I have videos of some of my fights on here if you want to see it working. I see you have no footage of yourself? Do you even train and fight?
@KEPO4 жыл бұрын
@@MixedMartialHelp Well, just dont take me wrong. You look more like kyokyshin or kickboxing rather than Muay Thai. Even MMA, for those stances are more leg opened to have more stability and be able to grapple or evade sweeps, tacles or takedowns... But the technique is pretty, not very Thai, but pretty.
@KEPO4 жыл бұрын
@@MixedMartialHelp I've just seen some fragments of your fights and a complete one. Your stance is much different. My apologies.
@MixedMartialHelp4 жыл бұрын
@@KEPO it's OK brother! You are right in your judgement though, I'm mostly experienced in Karate and Kickboxing systems, but always adapt to the rules of the fight. Usually people making comments judging a whole style from a short video are trolls. I'm really sorry to mis judge you my friend!!! Hope your training is going well! 🙏👊

@@MixedMartialHelp Unfortunatelly im like fish out of the water, here in Mexico we are not allowed to go out, despite some careless and unwise people that are taking everything like its only vacation... My point, i was looking for a freestanding punching bag that could hold Muay Thai drills and kicks... I was amateur, 10 fights, 61.5 Kg and 1.85m, now im a little heavier... But i kick a lot... So i was looking for this, one that holds abuse but "cheap", because you know... Its more expensive to buy for Mexipoor... Thats how i got to your video. Now i know the price of those freestand bags and im sorry to say that i cant buy one or i would have to buy a cheap local one that moves like a branch with the wind.
