This video brings back memories of some 60 years ago of me lying on my back in below zero temps in Korea cleaning the bottom of a duce and a half with solvent because water was useless and we needed to get ready for an inspection. I can still feel the solvent running down my arm. I love your show you guys are totally hard core. Keep it up.

You are right being a mechanic of 40 years I can conclude you would have to be bonkers to want to be a mechanic lying on the hard shoulder of the M6 motorway in pouring rain with trucks flying water at you every second even being blown out by a torrent of water hitting you sliding you out from underneath the vehicle you were working on with slush half-melted snow yes it's not fun soaked to your underwear and you still have 6 hours to go before you can go home yes it's NOT FUN.all the best from John from Rugby UK.

This took me back to a perfectly miserable memory, working forty feet up a CCTV mast on a sea wall on a January day with a freezing gale blowing, unchecked, straight in off the sea, I couldn’t wear gloves because I had fiddly little electrical terminals to work with….. and I still wouldn’t trade places with you because even though I was frozen to the bones and couldn’t feel my hands, I was at least (mostly) dry!

yep. Used to be an M2 Bradley turret mech. Which means I was also assisted hull mechs and had my own M113A2 to wrench on. I watch videos of tank restoration and wistfully think it could be good fun to get back into it... Then I see you getting pissed on in freezing temps yanking the pack and remember why I left... 🤣

The way I'd look at things is that you have Saturday morning to struggle on. Then the weather turns crap. At which point spend the time with the girlfriend, warm and cosy. It's 10.36 am and the wind is already starting to howl in Yorkshire. have fun. 😊❤❤❤😊

Whats good about this channel is it shows just how much hard work goes into doing these vehicles and how dirty you get not like some where they work in nice clean cloths and in a warm building. Hats off to you guys 👍👍👍

Top tip removing a bucket from a excavator. Lift the bucket just free off the ground. Move your dipstick til the bucket wobbles ( now your center off gravity is above the hinge pin. With some luck you will puch it out by hand. And for the second , get a small bar or crowbar and shuff it in the missing pin and find the center off gravity for your second removal. Seen,it have been there, done to much times,

Personally think you should mount the top half of that janky cat 360 onto an old tank body and make a 360 excavator tank thing. Speed+Mobility of a tank plus excavator arm, it would be an asset to your fleet.

Don't laugh , but in WW1 the RE's in France did that with a hull from a Vickers Gun carrier a steam powered railway crane.Running the tracks off crane drive .Tippy as all heck and dog slow. But what a concept

Great video as usual, watching these takes me back to when I left school & went into Forestry work, working on tractors, swing shovels dumpers & landrovers, I had no mechanical knowledge but Boss tell you how to do it then leave you to get on with it. We’re great time’s & always better when surrounded by mates enjoying the banter & pranks… keep the vids going 👍👍

I can remember doing that on Lunaberg Heath in Germany in 1978 in the snow. Now I'm sitting watching you whilst living in Kenya drinking a nice cold Tuska Malt beer. The sun is just setting on a nice 35 deg day. Please keep up the great banter and videos. It just brings back somany memories.

When they asked if I would mind switching from Jet engine school to radar, I was terrified to have my math skills exposed. Then I thought of all those weekends trying to get my hands and hair clean by Monday. Where do I sign?

Joe if you ever get flush enough you could build yourself a pit. Push you broken down kit over before pack lifts and you can stand up and undo your bottom pack bolts

At this point i would like to point out the complete irrelevant use of the following tools (Seb) and other items: 1) Foden Truck 2) Forklift 3) Crowbar 4) Dead blow mallet 5) Sledge Hammer 6) Pry bar 7) Impact Gun 8) Wrenches & 9) adjustable spanners P.s.
