HECO Aurora 300 Bookshelf Speakers, 700 Towers, 30 Center, & 30A Subwoofer Review

This is a highly requested review of the HECO Aurora Series Speakers consisting of the 300 Bookshelf Speakers, the 700 Towers, the Center 30, and the Sub 30A. HECO is a German company that has been making speakers since 1949. They're sold exclusively at Audio Advice. They utilize a Kraft paper cone woofer, and a Fluktus tweeter. These are attractive speakers with imaging and sound stage.

Joe Heco has even better floorstanders and stands. I am writing about Heco Celan Revolution7 and Revolution3. We have a similar price or even lower than in the US Svs ultra tower & bockself.

Heco is a big name in Europe. They're one of those companies that seemingly have been around forever, and played a role in shaping what we know as "hifi" today. Nice to see they're still making excellent speakers for reasonable money, as they always have.

I purchased the Aurora 1000 just over a month ago and I can tell you this is a good all around speaker. You would have a hard time finding a better tower speaker for under $2k. Good detail without being too bright and solid bass, sound stage is wide and tall.

Nice review Joe. I assume that sensitivity rating was for the tweeters, and not the woofers, because 92 sens is high. I don't mind the high treble because Id just EQ that out, but Im not a fan of the 2 to 3K dip, I assume that's a crossover issue right Joe? From your measurements I think they lack bass compared to my current unifi floorstanders. I appreciate we have different rooms though. I would love to see how well the unifi reference does in my room. I wish the floorstanders weren't so expensive. I really like seeing your measurements on your speaker reviews Joe, keep it, thanks.

Heco os old h8gh quality europan manufacturer. What is important they still 7se paper woofers wh8ch produce soft, warm, ear friendly sound. This is way better solution than all modern alu or plastic membranes. I don't know if they tuned Aurora for US market but here in Europe they are very rich in bass. Anyway I highly recommend you guys to listen Celan Revolution series also. CR 3 are bookshelf, 7 and 9 are floorstanding versions. Theyv8ffer m6ch more derailed sound with perfect bass and mids and soft h7gh res. Really good choice.

Hello and congratulations for your excellent speakers’ analysis! I would like your opinion on something that is probleming me and I believe that you are the best to help me! I am thinking of buying either the Kali Audio in-8 2nd wave (760 € pair) or the Heco Aurora 300 (383 € pair) What is your opinion? which of the two affected you most subjectively? (soundwise only?). Not considering the addition of an amplifier for the Hecos. Thank you in advance.

Hello Joe, I see you are using the T778. How is it? I contemplate with it but I dont know how good the hdmi switching is when using an AppleTV and automatic framerate adaption? Is it still a bit tricky?

Ok so how do they compare to other speakers like the Monolith Towers? You put monolith higher so is it more resolving? How are the mids? Is the base tight?

Maybe I'll do a comparison in a future video. I value bass maybe higher than others, so I have to be careful because some of it is just my personal preference. I want to help people make the best decision for themselves.

@@redleather420 cool I just ordered a pair along with a pair of Aurora 300s and a Celan 4 center. I'm going to connect them to a Yamaha RX-A8A. I also have pair of Polk R700s on backorder. I am not sure how much better or worse the Aurora 1000s will be but I will get them in a few days and for a ton cheaper than the R700s. If I really like them I may cancel my r700 order.

Another manufacturer mislabeling the polarity switch as phase. This needs to stop. Also, every sub should have variable phase control. Everyone doesn't have a processor that sets the delay. Some of us run integrated amps in a 2.1/2.2 system. It's not like variable phase control costs and arm and a leg to integrate in your product. It should be an industry standard, but unfortunately it's not.

I like offering by Monolith and SVS personally. I'm all about that 20hz and below bass.

Well that depends on one's listening habits. If its Home theatre then go with what joe suggested but if you listen to 2-channel music more than HT then I would go with a small driving subwoofer, big driving subwoofers can't keep up with the small stereo drivers... hence the reason why all the high End musical subs are small!
