This is the most accurate review I've seen about these tires. The performance of the tires and particularly the front is not great but they last forever.

Great review. I had similar observations. I had a set on my V Strom DL1000. One benefit to them is they have such a stiff side wall you can almost ride them while flat. I think a good combination would be the Heidenau K60 rear with the TKC 80 front. The K60 front has a tendency to wash out in loose conditions.

@@Jakabbarna hi, yeah they were a great tyre. They do twist and turn under heavy use but never let go on the tarmac. Welsh wet roads and brilliant fun. Gravel tracks they are awesome on, so much confidence.

I like your approach to testing and rating. Have you done a similar test with the Conti TKC80? I ride a KTM 1290SA. Thanks for the vid!

Thanks for the review. On a R1200GS which tires would you recommend for a trip Europe to Thailand? Different, sometimes pretty difficult terrains…

Thanks, great review. Looking for new 10,000 km 50/50 shoes for my Honda Transalp and was exited when I saw you reviewed the K60s. My other options seems to be limited to the Mitas E07 and new Dunlop Trailmax Mission tires, just wondered if you tried any of them and if so how they compared. The Karoo Street might come in as a 70/30 option if the 50/50 options are all horrible on-road. Michelin Adventure maybe as a 70/30 option? I have plenty of experience in the 90/10 departments on my R1200gs bikes but trying to rather learn from other’s mistakes as I venture more into the more dirt orientated tire ranges. When it comes to tires there are as many opinions as there are riders so a nice objective review stating the facts as this review did is as refreshing as rain in the Sahara dessert.

Another good review! Please, use km's, since you are European. Let Amaricans do the math ;) I have just come with my 2016 GSA from Georgia using these tyres. A decent road tyre with decent offroad manners. I deflated them to 2,0 front and 2,0 rear on the more difficult sections, once even to 1,5 front and 1,7 rear for the use in mud. After 8.000km they look like they can do 8.000 more.

A fair summary. I have them on my 1290SA. It’s impossible to get a tyre perfect for all conditions, especially for a 200+ kg bike, but they are a good compromise. Unfortunately the larger rear tyres come with the continuous centre line, so it’s easy to lose traction in mud. I’m interested in the Mitas E07, and also the Motoz Tractionator which gets generally very good reviews...any thoughts?

Hi guys, great review! I would like to ask what is the air pressure you use on these tyres. Do you recommend 2.5-2.9 or something softer? I am about to switch my TKC70s and I wasn't very happy about their mileage...Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the rewieu! As you said the tires are not good after 90 km/h? My bike isn't enduro, but have 19' front 18' rear dimention. So I'm trying to find 50/50 asbalt dirt tires
@gorkzop3 жыл бұрын
He said 90 miles. So that's 130km/h. And with that I can agree with my experience

I got 6500km from the rear k60 on 2016 GS Adventure. There was about 20% of life left , but I swapped to get higher thread. Front was ok with about 80% life left in it. Good tire. Next (2018) season will try TKC80 to compare.

@@Jakabbarna in the end if you ride a lot or tarmac with some offroad and not just gravel, then k60 are great. if you ride on and harder offroad and ready to swap rear every 3500 km then best is Anakee wild. they work better onroad than tkc 80 and nave better milage, they work great on forest trails. weak spot is deep sand in which tkc 80 work better. i ended up having two sets of wheels - cast aluminum with pure road tires and anakee wild on original set. used depending on a planned trip.

24,000km out of each of the last 4 rears, change the front every other rear. Never ride a 250kg bike in mud. Some vibes at 75-80kph that disappears otherwise.
