Held motorcycle gloves review

We’ve never really been short of gloves to put on the shelves, which might explain why we have never taken on Held gloves. But, in recent times, we’ve become a little disappointed with some of the gloves that have been offered to us by some of the manufacturers. There’s rarely an issue with the way these gloves look, but we’ve found some of them not to be as comfortable as we would want them to be. And from a technical standpoint we have found some of them to be wanting.
Gradually, we have been changing our emphasis here at Motolegends. Yes, like everyone, we are attracted by a cool-looking glove, but we’ve become increasingly unwilling to accept compromises as far as functionality and wearability are concerned. Held is a brand that we’ve always known about ever since we came into this business. When customers who had them came into the shop, they were nearly always full of praise for them. We got to know their gloves a bit better when we started to work with Stadler, because Held makes Stadler’s gloves. And they were, and are, impressive.
We have spent a lot of time, in recent months, examining the Held range. We’ve tried on just about every glove they make. We’ve ridden in quite a few, and have managed to whittle our selection down to about a dozen models. We’re really excited. We think their gloves are brilliant; they make some of the most comfortable gloves we’ve ever worn, and some of the most technical. Held use all the most sophisticated components; they use the best, most exotic hides, and they put their gloves together with longevity in mind.
What we cannot really explain is why we didn’t take Held gloves on before. In fact, we feel a little embarrassed. We’re all about sourcing the best gear, yet we never really checked Held out, and so we never realised just how good their gloves are.
In this review, the Chap in the Cap talks through the Held gloves that we’ve decided to take on. There are some 11 gloves in total. And he describes every single one of them. Anyway, you might still think it worth persevering. And that’s because we’re going to be talking about some fantastic gloves. Ive an old pair of Goretex Hein Gericke gloves, theyve been brilliant. One feature they have which is a godsend is the visor wipe. Good to see another glove that has this feature. Ive used Held gear before, good kit. The "Dave" glove!!!! Brilliant.

I've worn nothing but Held gloves for the last 20 years -- the only gloves I recommend. Not sure if they still make them, but the classic "Steve" glove has been my go-to all season touring glove forever, on my 2nd pair and almost ready for my third -- they last - that's in 15 years and probably 75k touring miles! I suppose the "Rodney" is their replacement now. For quality, comfort and safety without hyped and silly plastic bits, I wouldn't wear anything else.

Without a doubt my Held gloves are noticeably sturdier than all the other big brand gloves I've used. They feel like they're built to last.

Not only have they HELD up to the abuse of riding over many years, I find it's more the feeling these gloves give me on the controls, that make me want to wear them, (summer gloves) it's feels like I'm not wearing anything on my hands, but I know they will be well protected if anything should happen. I won't/can't ride with any other glove. Looking to get a (Winter Glove) soon, and will also look into their new protective leather clothing line. Oh and I have to add, the wiper on the glove works well, there will be a slight learning curve to the best way to use it, but you will soon find yourself being very pleased you have it. Here in the USA, the Clear vision wiper is more useful to wipe away dead bugs off of the visor that will impede your sight, can't tell you how many times the wiper has saved me from having to pull over and stop to clean off the mess from my visor after a bug strikes, so I can safely see where I'm going.

Forget about the gloves, although the attention to detail of the review is outstanding as always, but the vest that you are wearing is an awesome 😎 looking garment and the fabric is to die for 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Hey my fellow riders from England (and the rest of the world) this is something I do when I have rain drops accumulate on my visor, I just preform a quick turn of the head like I'm looking hard left/right while traveling at speed, the wind will clear your visor of the water droplets for you. Please be aware and preform this maneuver safely, because you will be averting your sightline for a split second.

Thanks a lot again for a great honest review video. Too bad you are so far away, I would for sure come to you and do some shopping. Looking at these for street riding early and late season in Sweden with around 10°c. Im mostly cold due to wind but never drives in rain. Is the 4.0 a good glove for that? Riding a naked bike.

Just give me a glove without a window wiper or a touch screen finger. Perforated leather with a knuckle duster, anything but cow leather and comfortable seams. It also has to fit like a glove.
