Watching this video brought back memories. When I was a boy, we would travel on highway 58. My dad was in the Marine Corps statoned in Norfolk Virginia. Part of the trip between Norfolk and Johnson City Tennessee we would take 58. It's been a long time since then. We were going to my grandmother's house. That was back in the late 1960's

I would love to go back and take that ride.

Love your video. Never visited your channel before. Your narrative is that of a 'forensic' flood investigation. Like I just wrote, I have not seen any of your other work, so that is my first impression. Growing up on a farm in PA, we were always out in the fields, woods, etc finding things and exploring. Yes, on a dirt road and very rural. Holsteins. I am much older than you I presume. This should be more named like: The Forensic Flood Explorer. While I grew up and then my kids, I witnessed the takeaway of the Arts, Music and Recess from our public school children. What a mistake in the long run. Never thought I would see the day of a 'pocket' phone or that it would turn into a creativity tool. This is a great documentary. Thank you and Be safe.

Thanks so much Kc! I honestly know nothing other than what I watch with guys like Myron Cook. Al I can do is look at what is there and make assumptions. I love it though. Even if I am wrong, I can at least be there to see these things. It is just way too much fun for me.

We drove down Grassy Ridge the week after the storm and that pretty spot at the top of the hill with all the new gravel was washed out with foot deep cuts down the middle. Just enough was left on each side to drive over, took some video that I never bothered to share. When we got to the end with all the trees down we ran into the power crews that said it was the worst they had to clear out so far. Thanks for the updates, we plan on being back up to Green Cove for a few days right after Thanksgiving with family in Charlotte.

We had the same kind of flooding up hee where I live in 1990. I walked the creek after I left work at lunch time. It hit at night. Kids were getting their baths and getting to bed for school and such. Nightly news was on and then blam. 26 dead in 6 hrs. there is only spot on that creek you can't walk across. Unreal and the creek and hollow just north and just south all got hit bad. Many lost homes. Flood Of Tears Belmont County Ohio 1990. Guy I know were still in the bar drinking. They barely survived, they were almost clear to the ceiling and had about a foot to stick their head above water. It came fast with no warning.

Really enjoy your videos. We are VCT lovers. An idea for you: Any old smartphone will have a live map with a blue dot 🔵 (it doesn’t need an active cell SIM card) Then you can film that screen periodically to show where you are on the map. For instance, “here is trestle #15” and you could film that screen. Also, Google maps will allow you to download an offline map via WiFi and it usually shows the directorion the phone is facing. 🧭 Just an idea to quickly get your viewers oriented. 👍🏼
