Two videos from sensual fidelium come to mind, one on the reading of St. Vincent of Port Maurice, and one on the difficulty of salvation and damnation: From St Vincent, the number of the damned is as innumerable as the sands on the beaches, but the number of the saved is as innumerable as the stars in heaven. How easy is it to go to hell? Easy. How easy is it to get to heaven? Easy. Not without struggle, but remembering the four last things makes the burden of enlightenment through Christ a joy, thus easy. Damnation is easy because we are already oriented toward it. Keep the vigil brothers and sisters.

confession and sacraments, USE IT
@Ky-oj7fr10 ай бұрын
Yeah, I thought the same. It’s scare mongering, people lose hope because of this kind of rhetoric. Simply saying “got to confession” and do penance isn’t enough. I have done so very recently, you can’t escape the fact that this offers almost no hope for everyone. I personally don’t agree with scare tactics, it’s why people leave and give up
@Navygrl5810 ай бұрын
Don’t despair my friend! I know what you’re saying though, first impression when listening to all this is, what chance do I have a miserable mess of a sinner than I am!. I think however, the crux of the message is don’t give up the fight no matter how bad things go and get, if we keep our eyes fixed on Christ and stay close to him and our blessed lady asking their help to avoid future sinful situations within ourselves and around us. Of course we’re going to fall and sin and Christ knows this, the question is do we lay there and die or do we get up, brush ourselves off, and ask for God‘s mercy and get to confession if need be and keep on plugging along? God knows our hearts and souls but we can’t just be presumptuous, sit by the sidelines and assume we’re going to get to heaven. I think that might be a bit of the point Father was trying to get at. If we are constantly aware of the consequences of our sinful actions and where it’s going to land our souls in the end if we don’t change then it’ll make us prone to wanting to change. Remember what Saint Paul said about working out our salvation in fear and trembling. It’s a daily minute by minute conversion. Keep the faith my friend we’re all on this journey together, let us continue to pray for each other. God bless.

How are we to 'avoid near occasions of sin' when the sin consists in omitting very important duties? Are duties not binding wherever we find ourselves? How are we to enter Heaven if we simply ignore them? Do we not risk being 'Justified' in our own eyes like the Pharisee?
@gerir438610 ай бұрын
Praying for your needs . Rationalization is the second strongest human drive. Don't give yourself permission to not do what you are called to do. He doesn't give us crosses without the corresponding graces needed to carry them well.
@superapex212810 ай бұрын
@@gerir4386 What do you do if your duty implies that you will certainly lose your life in pursuing it and you have virtually no chance of succes? We need 'help' not just to supplement our weekness in doing this kind of thing but in putting us in motion - '(...) for it is God who works in you both to WILL and to ACT' (Philippians 2:13). And that can only be the doing of a PERSON, the Person of the Holy Ghost dwelling, as it were, within us - not some exterior 'inspiration' meant to 'help' our woefully inadequate desire to do Good! I know this is going to sound strange but WE cannot save ourselves, even with the 'help' of God - only GOD can do that... A turtle, no matter how much you 'inspire' it, will never fly like a dove! That's how God gives us the 'corresponding graces needed to carry our crosses': by dwelling in us ...and carrying them Himself. Let us never lose sight of the fact that it is HIS Glory we seek - not our own!
@gerir438610 ай бұрын
@@superapex2128 you are being very vague, and I'm sure you have a good reason to be. My thinking is, we were made by God, for God. We are to give our lives away by serving Him, by serving each other. No matter what we do, it should give glory to God. If your work is sinful, you need to take a new job.
