@ShadowMoon JP left because of his commitment as restaurant director for Petrus reopening (GR's restaurant in London). He came back for HK11,12. Then left again after they found his replacement. Now He has his own restaurant which'd just been added to the list in Michelin guide2019. To think the fight with Van is one of the reason he left is just ridiculous, considering he'd been serving and being GR's bon ami for 14 f-cking years(as of HK11).

While I don't doubt they stage a lot of things, these guys don't exactly all have the same level of culinary knowledge and skill. I don't know how much practice or time these guys actually cook together off camera, but I bet not all these guys have the same sort of line experience. It's really all a recipe for disaster, you won't really see any actual kitchen, especially a higher end one, just hire a whole new back of the house and expect everyone to work well a few weeks into service. Even established ones would be more than happy to fire problem cooks/chefs, whereas in this series, there's multiple problem contestants that stay on because we'd only have 3 episodes of Hell's Kitchen each season if they cut off all the bad ones at an instant. That and of course Ramsey is going into this as if these weeks old cooks are akin to a well running kitchen.

Also the main issue is teammates. Because you can cook something perfectly but it won't go out if the garnish or the other plates aren't ready. So you may have to remake it if it takes them longer in like 5 minutes then when you're done. Also if you Buckle Under Pressure you might as well be screwed because you never really know what you'll do or how your mind will think under that much pressure when you're in that situation. You might completely forget how to cook it. Or start second-guessing yourself which is I think the main portion of Hell's Kitchen which is the pressure

not even, if you'd have watched that episode entirely, you'd know that Salvatore had never learned to read and write at all. he explains that his family was super poor and couldn't afford to send him to school when he was in Italy. He was forced to work at a very early age to help his family pay the bills. he has a pretty sad background unfortunately. And when Ramsey found out he actually felt sorry for him. Sadly we never found out what Ramsey did for him but I have a feeling that he probably had him take private lessons when he sent him home. Because before Salvatore actually got eliminated from the competition he was starting to surprise Ramsey with some pretty decent dish's in the challenges. He actually had a decent pallet. :)

I agree. Especially in season 15. He wasn't as tough or aggressive on them except for Kevin who he kicked out mid-service. Seasons 14 and before he was pretty brutal to the chefs.
