HELLDIVERS 2 First Impressions - Is This Game Right For You?

In this video I'll be sharing my initial experience and impressions of Helldivers 2. It's a very interesting game that does a lot right, but at the same time, it's not a game that is right for everyone. Yea kinda same experience for me - solo its fine (however the higher difficulties are way more fun than the lower ones but u want some gear for those ofc) but grouplay is where this game shines (and shines quite a lot), so far LFG experience was fine for me as well

I’ve had a blast in helldivers both with friends and LFG (matchmaking is another one of those launch issues but LFG parties work well) and from my experience, as you crank up the difficulty, the game really starts to shine. At low difficulties, it’s fun but a bit surface level, but once you get to 6 and above, you really have to work with your teammates. Strategically choosing what weapons and stratagems to bring, boosters, target priority, all while it’s super chaotic which makes it so fun.

I am really excited to experience how things play out once I make my way into the higher difficulty levels! I believed we ended on "challenging" this past weekend, and while it was a lot fun I never really felt threatened by the game, so that's an aspect that I'm looking forward to. I stopped playing destiny a month ago and I feel so much better now. Normally I would grind every day non stop for the rolls I wanted because the loot rotated every week so there is no time to take a break from the game. I'm feeling so much better now that I stopped. I'm currently playing Monster Hunter World and Gothic 1. There are both rly good games and rly cheap as a steam key if you want to try it out. Helldiver's definitely looks worth trying out for me.

Ayeee!! Great to hear from you man! If you can consistently round up a 4 man squad, I definitely recommend giving Helldivers 2 a go! Monster Hunter is a game that I've tried a few different times, but it never really grabbed me. One of these days I gotta sit down and really dig into it because it's a game that I really want to like. I haven't looked into Gothic 1 so I don't know much about it, but I'll have to take a peek. Thank You! Thank you for this take. See, I picked it up over the weekend and, after 2 hours of sheer nightmarish solo play, I dropped it and asked for a refund. To me, it was clunky, unrefined, unresponsive and asked you to do far more keyboard gymnastics than what is reasonable for a shooter game. So, yeah, it was a no-sale for me. And, given its popularity, I thought there was something wrong with me! It’s somewhat reassuring to hear that it may not be everyone’s cup of tea after all.

Played this mostly solo, it’s been a breath of fresh air for me, the people I’ve encountered are all in it for fun, maybe I’ve been lucky but man it’s been so nice compared to the toxicity of the destiny community.

That's encouraging to hear! Sadly, most of my gaming experiences involving random players over the years have been more negative than positive. Helldivers 2, with it's light-hearted nature, could certainly be attracting a more amicable player base! 👍🍻

Honestly, the "best played with a group" aspect is what keeps me from having much interest in this game. Unfortunately most of my friends don't really get into shooters, so it's always a gamble to try and pick up a game like this that is heavily coop focused.

That's definitely a valid concern in my opinion. It's not a game that lends itself to solo play, and in-game matchmaking (even though I've heard positive feedback regarding Helldivers 2) like you said, can often be a crap-shoot. If it wasn't for my friends reaching out to me, I would have passed on this one. 👍👍

i miss your videos man i also just buy HD2 today and play some with my freind this game is hell of fun with all the explow, shotting, airstrike, landmine ... everything can kill you even with teammate (90% why im dead) SOS is shit when no one join, match matching also shit i hope i can play with 4 people soon

At 4:10 you seem trapped but hug the edges you'll be surprised what you can climb to get away. (bench to fence or concrete barrier to cliff) Also there is a grenade called impact thst blows once it hits something or the ground. Yours bounced and killed you hahaha. It's helldivers not diver. It's multi-player

I love Helldivers right now, but I truly hate the recoil system. It is really bad imo. Maybe only good on controller?

I've played on both inputs, and it honestly didn't seem to make a huge difference in regards to the recoil. I think the inconsistencies are intentionally baked in. Maybe there is a way of stacking up unlocks for recoil mitigation? I really haven't played enough at this point to knowledgeably speak on the subject matter. 👍👍

can only be ENJOYED in groups. I play with the few friends I have and solo. And it is worse than attempting to Solo flawless a D2 dungeon.
