Great reaction guys!! This was just so damned good!! When I watched it the first time, I thought it was Geoff that said "Burn It", but no, that was Layne. And It was cool that Tony got to participate as the guard. Completely Blown away by how epic this cover was!! It has been a long long time since I have seen Hunchback of Notre Dame. I wasn't familiar with this song, but it's amazing. The evil of the priest, proud of his humility and virtue, lusting after the gypsy. Villainous! J None was just transferred to Washington DC and is singing bass with the chorus there. He could have been doing some of that bass work, and Eli has also covered the bass track whenever Geoff is otherwise occupied. Disney would have to write the script and then give Voiceplay complete artistic control over the project.

I feel like each vocal lead portrays yet another aspect of Frollo’s splintering psyche as he struggles with the battle of the flesh versus his claimed “holiness”. They showed this dichotomy as well as the times that “they” all thought the same way. So very very good!!! ❤

It can be picked up, but they double tracks more often than having someone else take the bass. Nothing wrong with it just adds to it.

@@jukeboxknocks They usually double-track Geoff for the official audio track (and thus for the music video that uses it), because it sounds awesome, and because they can; but for live performances they usually have somebody else (typically Eli, but it depends on who is available at that point in the arrangement) fill in the bass line when Geoff has the lead. (The major exception is Oogie Boogie, for which they use a background track that has Geoff's bass line and also Sandy Claws, because Geoff has the lead for the whole dang song, and the other guys have their own parts to sing too, so really nobody is available to fill in the bass line.)

Since you're now into acapella, you might want to backtrack and check out Rockapella, which kinda started the modern era of acapella (after barbershop quartets and the Mills Brothers). Be sure to catch some of Rockapella's early stuff while Sean Altman was still with them. He did all the arrangements as well as a lot of lead singing.

All five guys in this video can sing tenor, baritone, bass, and beatbox... to varying degrees of skill. Gives them a lot of flexibility in arranging. In Greatest Showman medley, at one point all four guys plus guest Rachael Potter are beatboxing. In Death of A Bachelor, it's just Earl and Geoff. You can see Geoff beatboxing and doing the bass line on screen. He did that live in Christmas performances at a theme park, too, way back when. There's video of Layne doing the same thing with a different group, as they were performing as cast members, not VoicePlay.

At the beginning of the song it was Layne on bass until he says Burn It, after that I believe it's all Geoff. Though, with 4 guys in this lineup that can sing bass who knows. Great reaction, enjoyed it!

This was an absolute masterpiece. It totally put me right there in the cathedral with frolo. It was so beyond well done. Complete side note. I was watching one of your older videos. Christmas don't be late. I believe. And somewhere in there you had Mentioned that you need to hear some More DJ young. Voiceplay covered Man in the mirror, bang, and butter. All of the above featured dj young. Man in the mirror was j none's exit from voiceplay. The other two songs are full of hijinks and Shenanigans that are so much fun to watch. Pp: you should also check out if I were a rich man/girl featuring Ashley Diane. Stellar performances. Pps: how did you like horizon zero dawn? It's definitely on my top list of favorite games.

There isn't a voiceplay musical per say, but there is Patticake Productions. It's Layne's and Tony Wakim's (former voiceplay member) studio, and they direct most of the stuff on that channel rather than sing themselves, but they did come up with and produced multiple songs for an original disney villain's musical. It's called The Villain's Lair, you should check it out.
