When it comes to Kent Hovind and Eric Hovind... like father, like son. Logicked became a legend with his "Hello, My Name is Kent Hovind" series... and now we team up to take a look at the young-earth creation family claims about the rotation of the earth, the rate of petrification and oil reservoir pressure.

Not that surprising that Eric would just regurgitate his father's words word for word. Last time he tried to formulate a unique argument we got this gem, _"Is it impossible, is it an absolute impossibility for god to exist?"_

not to be "that" guy, But crows and ravens belong to the same genus - corvus. As they did not specify which species, showing a picture of a fan-tailed raven (If I'm not totaly mistaken) would still be a member of the crow genus as is the Corvus Corax (common crow) or the Corvus tasmanicus (forest raven) It's similar to say here we see an ape - showing a picture of a human.

You can't really blame Eric for being an utter failure at everything. He _was_ homeschooled. By Kent Hovind. That'd leave *_anyone_* a wretched mess of Stupid. To wit, Eric's audience once failed the question "if a boat sinks with a coin dated 1964, was the coin minted before the boat sank? or after?". And you *know* Eric's audience is just Kent's audience all grown up.

On the subject of homeschooling, I'll say one thing: putting a dick in a vagina does not grant the owners of either genitals the magical ability to be competent teachers. On the subject of what I said, I'll just copy/paste the relevant bit and let an adult explain to you why you fucked up: "He was homeschooled. By Kent Hovind."

Claim 1: petrification can be fast, when having water an sediment. Claim 2: all kinds lived together. Claim 3: there was a global flood burying everything, everywhere, with water and sediment. Expected conclusion (prediction): Therefore there should be a fairly common finding to dig out all kinds of petrified animals mixed together in no particular order. #RealityCheck: it is not like that at all...!

On "Petrified pickles", some years ago I was helping my elderly aunt and uncle clean out their basement in Colorado (read: Dry climate). My aunt made pickles every year. We found some jars of her pickles, pushed behind other things and "lost" for more than 20 years per dates on the labels. The lids had been put on sufficiently loosely, combined with years of expansion/contraction. The water and vinegar had evaporated from the jar, the pickles were dry. We jokingly called them "petrified". Yes, my aunt and uncle and I all accepted the scientific explanation for actual petrification, and nobody took our term "petrified pickle" literally. There was some stone-like something on the surface, and looked much like the ones in this video. We just assumed it to be some mixture of spices and minerals from the water. We didn't bother analyzing these. We sent them to the city dump, not the museum. No doubt you can find wood in the Petrified Forest that's been chopped with an axe - wood legitimately brought in by legal campers, building legal campfires. I see no evidence that the pictured wood is petrified. I suppose had we been sufficiently grifty, we could have made money with our "Petrified Pickles", and made some claim about young earth, said "Jesus" loud enough, and ended up with millions of dollars.

5:20 Yipes, you did a Hovind! The Earth is not slowing down by 1.6ms/day (which doesn't even make sense as a unit). The Earth's day *is* 1.6ms shorter than it was when the definition of a "second" was established. The clock will be fast by this much every day, even if the speed does not change at all. The fast clock will lose gain 1.6ms every day, keeping the current speeds of everything. So, the actual change in rotation rate is 1.6ms/day per century. You calculated how far off a modern clock would be after running 6000 years, not the length of a day.

Hey Paul, I'm equally Albertan! Been watching your content from my home in Calgary for a couple years now and I wanted to tell you that you're a champ! If you're ever in Cow-Town and feel like meeting with a fan for a drink; drop me a message and I will tell you if I can afford it! Cheers!

Logicked is one of the first skeptic/atheist channels I subscribed to, leading me eventually here...The series he did "Hello, I'm a scientist" was even funnier because it turned out that the "Scientist" was an Automechanic Specialist with no science degrees at all! In all honesty I'd not trust him with hotwheels car, he's batshit crazy!

Just as an FYI, I knew a guy who lived in Iran, Texas. Him and the locals gave the name double the syllables. "Eye-uh-ran-uh, Taxas!"

What really grates Kent's gears is Paul referring to Kent's "Dino Adventure-Land" as the "Sandpit", nice one Paul.

The more I see side-by-sides like this of Eric and Kent Hovind, it makes me more convinced that Eric knows he's full of shit. Even if he was actually convinced by some of the arguments, he has to recognize that if his conclusions were sound then he shouldn't have to take his dad's arguments word for word from 20 years ago. There would be new studies and new information supporting his conclusions. The fact that he parrots off his dad's work using the same words and slides most of the time makes it feel as fake and scripted as an episode of The Bachelor which makes me think Eric is just in it for the money.

Oddly' Iraan, Tx is a real place. According to the wikipedia article it is near Pecos and was built on a former ranch named Irene and Anne, which gave rise to the name from combining them.

I honestly feel like if someone made a soundboard of logicked's responses to kents videos you could actually set up a debate and demolish kent without anyone even noticing. Based off kents script logicked has a rebuttal to anything he could possibly spit out

Listening to these poor kids laughing and enjoying the Hovinds' false preaching is so depressing. We all know they never will be but they should be ashamed of themselves.

I've read that severely abused children sometimes identify so strongly with their abuser that they may imitate that abuser almost exactly. And of course there's no reason to change a good scam.
