finally got the ai working! as well as some dynamic ambience. not perfect because it's still early in development and coming along nicely! hunt mode is still basically a placeholder. he doesn't have any hunt tasks other than look around, but i plan to add more, so dont worry. he wont be grunting constantly in the first release. he currently has 8 idle tasks, and i plan to add even more! i want him to feel as real as possible.
andddd i now have a gamejolt page! future updates wont be posted on youtube, they'll instead be posted over on gamejolt! (unless i do any devlog videos in the future)

Really cool! I like the use of the prototype sounds! I do feel it would be scarier if the neighbor did not have any grunting sounds as that’s one thing that made him scary in the alphas (that he was silent) but still awesome stuff!

also an idea remember your lost versions video what about alpha 1.5 remake hunt mode he check the spots where you could be hiding and then go to idle

What if the neighbor was more faster, and the closer he got to you, the more faster he sprints :0 I remember a mod of that, I don't remember what It was though, but it was scary in a good way

i suggest removing most of the neighbor's grunting noises to give it an early-build sort of feel. Really good so far though!

Just saying but ever since ur vid on hnar I recommend a fan game that's a similar to hnar that being a what if tb never changed the direction of the game and that fan game is late night shift a reimagining of hn2's original concept I recommend trying it out

All he does is watch television😀🤣😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😂💀💀💀 but after the nightmare he started to move around and occasionally be watching tv as its called Advanced Idle mode i think after you open the basement or get the nightmare he will do is repair his car alot and do other stuff often

@@spaceguy6182 probably not, honestly i always thought it was kind of unnecessary. id rather the neighbor use the house itself to his advantage. ie, he'll still set up traps, he just won't throw them.

@@SuperJeffyDavid173 follow owen campos' tutorial on making doors, but add a "play sound at location" right before the door opens and another one right after it closes

@@MaiteRubioRodríguez they came included with the template, although certain sounds were bugged so i had to either extract them from the game or from a video i found that has all the sounds taken from the prototype

@@MaiteRubioRodríguez honestly the alpha 2 ambience is really nice. only issue is the inside ambience is broken to hell because whoever implemented the triggers for it did a terrible job so it constantly fades in and out

@@ErickSmith-j5l once the neighbor loses you, i have it set so the chase music stops immediately and then it plays the sound right after

This looks pretty good, guessing the ai is 100% done yet. Also I had an idea for blocking doors, in return for causing lots of noise maybe you could board up a door or a window maybe?

@@ErickSmith-j5l well, as for drawers, its pretty much the same as a double door, but with different models. which is actually how i made the drawer. i duplicated the double door and changed the meshes, sounds, coordinates and that stuff. the microwave is a bit more complex since it involves code used in both doors and interactable items. but basically copy the code over from the door so whenever you interact with the door itself it changes position. the garage door is pretty much the same, you just have to have a switch connect to the door using a cast and then run a custom event that plays whenever the lever is pulled that opens or closes the door. the tv is... complicated to say the least. too complicated for me to put into words so if anything ill make a tutorial for the tv since i think its kinda complicated if you're a beginner (it took me over an hour to figure it out lmao) or maybe ill make tutorials about just random stuff, im not sure yet. we'll see

@@ErickSmith-j5l actually that's simple to explain. basically just add a spot light onto the flashlight object and use the use event to flip flop between turning the visibility on and off for the spotlight
