Good morning Dave, my GF and I passed you on the road in Casa Grande, Arizona, and I wanted to honk to wave, but traffic was pretty heavy. I didn't want to startle you, but it was great seeing you and your travel companion .

So I lived in Deming NM for about 3 years (I am from Oregon) and I could not handle the goat heads. My daughter loved to walk bare foot and couldn't do it and I owned a Border Collie...she got them between her toes all the time. I love the critters there since I love animals. To see Road Runners, tons of quail, lots of Jack Rabbits, Horned Toads, Black Tarantulas that come out when it rains by the dozens, scorpions, wild horses and donkeys............it was fun. But I love the Oregon landscape and the animals here too. Goat heads are a pain! LOL Love following your trip :) God bless you on your adventures with Bella

I spent the night in the Deming Walmart a couple of years ago. It was very quiet until some idiot in an RV started his generator at 6am! The far end of the parking lot was empty but he couldn't be bothered to drive a hundred yards. Safe travels.

It takes a long time to get across Texas. Sorry about the stickers. It's just something we have to deal with here. There is a spray for them that farmers use to get rid of them when they are using their land for hay.

I'm noticing more and more van lifers driving in the dark, either before sunrise, or after sunset. Driving at night long distances just to get somewhere is dangerous. Because the driver can't look for potholes, uneven ashalpt, or just plain debris of any sort as they are able to in daylight. Unnecessary night driving just adds other elements of things that can go wrong in the middle of nowhere, in the dark. Not a safe message or example for other travelers like yourself who might not think things all the way through before continuing to their next destination.

I'm glad that you have the Bounder running well! It's always best to fill up in the morning when it's cooler. Gas evaporates so the warmer it is the more fumes and less gas you're paying for. It's always best to pump gas slowly to reduce the fumes. New Jersey uses pumps that capture the fumes because they know that in the long run it saves gas. It might not matter much for the average citizen but when you're only getting 8 or 9 miles to the gallon, every little bit helps!!! Safe travels to all.
