I genuinely feel so bad for joy cause I ABSOLUTELY get where she’s coming from. For me, I’m quite autistic and have adhd and so for me, I’ve often had situations where I’m just trying to explain myself and the situation while also having my thoughts run a mile a minute so I can’t process what I actually want to say in the moment. Because of this I often get told that I’m making up excuses, giving attitude, or just trying to say whatever I can to get out of the situation when that just isn’t the case. I can see what was going through her mind in that moment cause I have been there. It’s hard to just cut off your whirlwind thoughts in high stress moments like that. Even if it could have been solved with a “yes chef”, she may have just been stuck in one of those cycles that’s impossible to break out of. I think the biggest problem with Joy was that she put all her need for support onto Kaisha, which is why she would try to protect her by putting up Scott and Rochelle up for reasons that didn't make total sense. Once Kaisha was eliminated, she lost her control and went home. She'd later try to pin the reason for he leaving due to racism and the directors not wanting a black winner (despite her season being sandwiched between 2 black women winners)
