Get a "business card" printed up saying "You found this camera. Did you see the other one watching this camera?" Havent lost a camera since using this, but got some good shots of people looking at other trees nearby.

I like the idea of using paracord. Those straps stand out like a turd in a punch bowl. Thanks for the video.

What did you use to silence the cam buckle on the stick?

I cut 45° "door stops" to angle my cameras down. I like the paracord idea I'm going to give that a try!

Very cool idea with door stops- would make a great shim. Thank for watching Rick!

I also made small wedges out of some scrap cedar 2x4's, really small and work great. I just use the python lock cable to mount the camera with the small wedge to angle the camera down, no straps at all. Order the pythons in bulk off Amazon all keyed alike , one key opens all 16 of my locks.

Use bungee cords made out of camo or brown/green color. I buy the bulk cord and make my own. I also use a length of it thru the back slots of the camera and form loops on the ends to hook the bungee hooks to. Gets a VERY snug fit.

I have saved myself many of cameras by setting them on video mode , and then checking them regularly, many times I’ve watched a video and saw other hunters looking for a camera and not finding mine , at baited areas, and rub lines , and then removing the camera before they find it and confronted the other hunter by simply sending them an email of the video , of them trespassing and looking for cameras.
@ExodusOutdoorGear5 жыл бұрын
Video mode is a great option for getting the 'full picture' in those types of situations.

Great info, I always notice the strap and im guessing that would be the same for the python lock.

Good suggestions, thank you. I have one that is almost fool proof and will make you a better hunter at the same time, esp if you hunt public land: Go where other hunters don't/won't go. I realize this isn't always possible, but after hunting public land exclusively for 15 years, I've learned that if you're hunting where there's enough traffic that your cameras are getting stolen, you're not getting far enough away, and you're probably not where the older deer are. I've been running cams that entire time and I've never had one stolen. In fact, it's very rare for me to even get a pic of another person. I scout for places that have deer tracks but no boot tracks, then I know I'm getting close to the good spots.

If my render gets stolen is there a way to disable it so the thieves can’t use it?
@ExodusOutdoorGear2 жыл бұрын
Yes, we can disable the cell function and report it stolen in our database.
@bossstrick2 жыл бұрын
But they’d still be able to use it otherwise, just no cell? Hopefully technology will advance enough soon so when a camera is reported stolen it can be disabled completely, kinda like an iPhone?
@ThomasShue2 жыл бұрын
I wish RING made game cameras, My battery Ring lasts for months on my front porch. Even in the winter. They youse motion detection zones on the camera sensor, they are way smaller, and if the made a cellular version that’s all I would use. Add a tiny solar panel and Bam Ring camera would be the shit for trail cams

Well mud where you broke those branches off too so there darker and trim the stick to the size of the camera so it doesn’t stick out past...anything to make sure there still there when you get back.... seems like more and more HUNTERS have sticky fingers these days :(:(:(

Had someone sneak onto my land at night and shot something. The shot woke me up around 2:30 am but didn’t sound like a shot at the time. Woke up in a daze and thought something was thrown at my window. Grabbed my gun and flashlight but didn’t see or hear anything. Next morning while checking my food plots, I noticed blood on the ground at my feeder. Had game warden come out but we could only track the blood for thirty yards. Warden figured they set up and shot from under my stand which is only about 300 yards from my house. That took some balls for them to do that. Wish I had my cameras set out but I didn’t. Now I got one aiming at stand on video mode. When my cousin posted on Facebook that we were looking for a dog tracker, it apparently blew up on there. Warden went to new neighbors house across from me and the guy was all nervous as heck. His wife told him that they saw the post only minutes after. The only way they saw the post was that they were subscribed to that particular channel. What are the odds of that. It kinda messed up his investigation but maybe whoever did the trespassing and shooting, saw that post and won’t be back for a while. I know I’m long winded on this, but this pissed me off. Camera concealment is a must. You have to think outside the box. Purchased a Reo-Link with solar panel, but didn’t hook it up yet. I’m afraid that they shoot it down if they can’t get to it.

I think it would be good to put some flex tape over those ports. It would prevent ants and other insects from getting into the camera. Just.a thought .

The video is interesting, but from the way you've placed the camera I find it almost impossible that it can point in a proper direction. Despite having placed that stick, the camera would never point far enough at the ground.

why dont they make a camera like how they do arthroscopic operations with? have it on a long wire maybe the sensors too would be less noticeable than a plastic box shape on a tree, or even a camera disguised as a tree branch, that little box shape is so un natural looking in a natural environment
@ChrisWilliams-nu1sf5 жыл бұрын
My # 1 tip for to guard against having a trail cam stolen on public lands is by using a security box, aka a bear box. Attach it to a tree using a cable lock.
@ExodusOutdoorGear5 жыл бұрын
Chris Williams definitely a great way to deter theft. The security box can help people stay honest.

Can you guys make a trail camera that shocks people if they try to tamper with it? You can turn off the electric shock with like a key fob. If that's illegal, then maybe shoot out some massive ink like an octopus. Lol 😆 I want 1% royalties for life. Ty 👍

Cameras on public land soon become public property IMHO. I have 40 acres in prime hunting land in SC. I use cheap cameras. If cameras are missing I know I have trespassers and they know I will be vigilent. I put a message on the camera asking them to smile because there is camera watching the camera. There is no camera, but I think it makes them keep looking for that other camera so why take the chance or hassle.
