Thank you! In class we've been doing combinations from grade 7 in the cecchetti method and there's a bunch of combinations that have these crazy double attitude turns en dehors or even triple attitude turns en dedans, but I couldn't even do a single attitude turn without completely whipping myself off my leg until I watched this vid. Thx so much!

Hello! My name us Lydia and I am a student from Greece. Recently I found you while searching online for pointe sewing tips and I have to say you've helped me a lot with your technique tips! I have been practising ballet for nearly 17 years now but no matter how many teachers you change, there are some things you're not told and leave you straggling for ages! So, I would like to ask you whether you have time to do a technique video for arabesque pirouettes? Thank you and lots of kisses from Greece! (I have shown your videos to some of Mt classmates and we're all super excited hahaha)

Thanks Kathryn! I'd love some tips on how to strengthen your legs for high developes. My teacher always says to think of lifting the leg from the bottom and not grip with the hamstrings.. I still don't seem to understand this..

This is such a fantastic video thank you and congrats on how great you look! Could you do a video on strengthening hamstrings/glutes for developes so that one is not just lifting the leg with the hipflexor and the quad?

Hi Kathryn! I recently started to learn how to turn, and I am still trying to make it work. However, it is a bit difficult for me to incorporate the Spotting. It would be amazing if you could do a video just about Spotting and how it works, how to make it second nature and all that :) Thank you! Oh, and congrats in getting back in shape. I know how hard it is, so lots of good vibes for many more cool things to come!

I'd love to see a 'follow a long workout' for abs and core. You already did a class but maybe some exercises which help to build a strong core. :) I struggle with it so much.. My back is quite flexible and it it so hard to build this strong core for turns etc. Maybe you have some tips and advice for that? ♥ Kathryn Morgan

Hi Kathryn, have you or anyone you know experienced Freiberg's disease/infraction in the metatarsal bones? Its something I've unfortunately had for several years and has prevented me from being able to progress in dancing because of the pain it causes to even go on my toes - never mind anywhere near on pointe. Any tips on how to avoid/reduce the pain or to avoid causing further damage would be much appreciated! (I've already had surgery for it once however its a recurring thing annoyingly)

Kathryn, girls! I'm choosing my first Eleve leo. My measurements are 32-24-34-55 (Bust-Waist-Hips-Girth), XS has (28-31)-(23-25)-(30-34)-(53-57) while S has (32-34)-(25-28)-(34-38)-(55-58). What should I go with? I'd appreciate any help!

Hey, Kathryn, I have been doing ballet for 9 years but i have recently developed a problem. Every time i point my foot it hurts my ankle right at the crease that is formed by the heel coming back to the ankle. I don't really know how to explain it so i hope you understand but i just wanted to know if you have come across this problem and have an advice. Maybe i have overworked it or it is not strong enough but i am kinda worried because summer intensive auditions are coming soon. Sorry for the irrelevant question but i need to know if i should worry or not. Great video though. The pirrouette series has been really helpful to me ily bb pls respond!
@kellyl610810 жыл бұрын
hi! I'm not Kathryn, but are you talking about your achilles? I had that same problem, even though my Achilles is really flexible it just started to hurt when pointed . It could be maybe you were cold or you likely just overworked it, you could put some tiger balm on it and buy this ankle support thingy u can get at target or from Walmart, it helps me a lot. Just don't work too hard on your foot and it should be fine :) but Kathryn probably has better advice, this is just from my experience, hope I help :)
@Repanon0010 жыл бұрын
I had the same problem. It is tendinitis. You get it when you don't use a good plie especially when you do jumps. Just ice it, soak it in epsome salt. If it gets worse then don't take class. And if you are on Pointe I would suggest doing ballet but not Pointe.
@ilovekooky10 жыл бұрын
I have (well, had, actually) this problem when I first started getting pretty serious into ballet. I'll tell you what I did to help. First things first, don't push yourself too much. I mean this in every aspect. When you feel pain, take it down a notch or two or just give yourself a break. You should also be careful that you're not pushing yourself over your pointe shoes as if to give yourself a better arch. You may actually need to get fitted for a new pair but you'll know when you really examine and observe how your pointe form is. While I'm talking about going en pointe, I'll tell you what really made a world of difference; make sure your leg is straightened out before you start rolling through your feet to go en pointe. You may want to watch yourself slowly go en pointe and see if your knees are bent at all when they shouldn't be. A good stretch that feels amazing when having pain is to stand on an elevated surface with about half of your foot hanging off and just let that part come down slowly and you'll feel the stretch. Also, make sure you're not doing anything like wedging your feet under couches or anything like that. Even "foot stretchers" can hurt you. From one dancer to another, I hope this helped and Godspeed. :)
