Helpful Hints: How to Loosen a Stuck Stone

It is so frustrating when you get a cab stuck in a bezel cup when testing the fit. Here are three techniques for dealing with that issue.

Cool rings! But, forgot the sticky wax. Like Kate Wolfs sticky wax on a the brand I use. It is the first snd lady thing to do, before drilling! the same wax you use on the end of a small stick or similar, to help put tiny faceted stones in snd out of settings. make a glob of it press it yank it out that’s the first thing and easiest thing should do.

Great tips. I used dental floss and it pulled out accidentally when I tried to remove the stone. I have one more tip to add that I happened to try while watching this. Strong double sided sticky tape. I pressed hard and my stone popped right out.

Tammy Baalman I tapped and tapped and it just wouldn’t budge. I’m sure I didn’t tap long enough, though! So finally, instead of drilling a hole in the backplate, I used my automatic center punch on the back and the stone popped right out. 😃

Hello, i have a few Gold men rings with inset jewels I am trying to figure out how to get the jewels out so I can sell the gold but I can't figure out how to do it, can you please help.

That can be difficult. I have done the same and literally had to take a saw to it to cut into the setting and pry it open so the stones would drop out. Depending on the setting you can get special pliers to pry prongs open. Good luck!

Hi are there any ways to get the stone out if it is already glued on the ring?

I have have used acetone before. You should do additional research to ensure it is safe to use acetone with the type of stone you are trying to remove. Good luck!
