Hi Erin, I have a couple more tips for you. When removing a cling stamp from the stamp block make sure to pull up the sticker and not just the rubber of the stamp or the foam layer could end up tearing in half. The cling stickers are very sticky! Also don’t leave them attached to the block for long periods of time for the same reason. They will become very difficult to pull up of the block. And I have an inkpad tip too. When you get a new pad you will find that they are quite stiff and they don’t glide easier to open or close. This will get better over time or you can put some inexpensive lip balm along the sides of the tracks to grease it, if you will. It prevents losing grip, juggling with your inkpads and risking ink smudges on yourself and/or your project. Love from the Netherlands from a fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.

These are fabulous tips, that you so much! I will certainly try "greasing" the ink cases as they are a bit tricky. I did not know about leaving the stamps on the block too long and greatly appreciate you sharing that.

I have been ordering with Stampin Up for many, many years. I will miss CTMH as I do love the company, but I am so thrilled to see all the Creative Design Team has joined Stampin Up and are doing KZbin videos with their product. So excited to know that Stampin Up will be getting more involved in Scrapbooking as that is my passion. Anyway Erin, here is a little tip that I have found helpful. I put a little dot on the spine of all my Stampin Up cases that include the dies inside. I also keep a notebook with pictures of the front of all the cases. It makes it so much easier to know what in inside each case and to locate what you are looking for. Thank you, Erin, and to the rest of the Creative Design Team for being such an inspiration and sharing your talents. Love you all!

I use the block method on cling stamps too. Another trick I use is after I have placed all the labels on, I pull the die cut layer of paper off the red rubber and sticky paper off the label piece. I put the white piece in the stamp case and the red rubber on top of it. This way you can still see if anything is missing and the stamps don’t stick to the case itself. Sometimes they are hard to get off the case if stuck straight onto it.

I am always looking for more organization tips so thanks for sharing your method! I actually adopted this method myself since making this video and it is working well for me 😊

Welcome to Stampin Up😀. When you began showing how to put labels on cling mount stamps (and I have always put labels on), I was excited someone had shown you how to use the clear block to get the sticker on straight. The adhesive between the sticker and stamp is very sticky. Once you mess up, they are nearly impossible to pull off and try again.

Once the sticker has been added to the stamps don’t leave them on blocks for a lengthy amount of time. It will make them difficult to remove!

1 more tip about the red rubber I learned as a newer demonstrator recently. If you stick the sticker side to the case, over time it will attach to the case very strongly, and when you try to take your stamp off the case to use it might tear the foam layer also. When I put magnet sheets under my dies, I reused the wax sheet that came on the back of the magnets to put under the red rubber sticky side to prevent this from happening. Other demonstrators also told me that if this ever happens, and the sticker is stuck to the case or a stamp block, take a small tool, tweezer, or your nail, and just get it under 1 small edge of the stamp to break the seal so you can remove it. Welcome to StampinUp! I wish I had heard of CTMH before they went out of business; I enjoy scrapbooking too!
@LorindaSnoozy5 ай бұрын
I saw somewhere on a KZbin video that if the red rubber stamp is large, some people use an embossing anti-static pad to tap a small area on an edge somewhere. It keeps that part from sticking, but allows the rest of the stamp to stick to the case. Hope this helps.
@celiacrutchfield85302 ай бұрын
Thanks for the link to the 5X7 envelopes. I had never thought of that solution for when there are too many dies for the magnet that I attach to the case. Will order those today! One thing I've learned with the red rubber cling stamps is to dab my embossing buddy on a small corner of the sticker. This gives me easy access to start lifting the stamp off the block or case without damaging the foam. Wonderful tips; I'll share this with friends.

Welcome to Stampin Up Erin and all the CTMH Makers! I have been using SU products for about 25 years.I have been a demo since 2015. One thing I do and others may scream NOOOO loudly but on my red cling stamps, after adhering the stickers, I then trim all the rubber that surrounds the image. That is where I and my ladies get ink on that negative space and we have smudges and make a mess. :Like I said, just my personal preference. I hope you and all Makers have a great time learning about and making projects with the SU products!!

Long time Stampin' Up! demo here. Welcome!Good information. Thanks for sharing. I always label my cling stamps, but I peel just half of the label's protective sheet away and dry fit the still protected side. Then I stick down the sticky half. Removing the other half of the protective sheet, I stick down the other half. I had never seen the block method. I may try it. I, too, keep the surrounding red rubber to corral my pieces and use a magnet sheet for dies in my stamp case.

Welcome to Stampin' Up!! I am so excited about a greater focus on scrapbooking, and I am loving all your videos (I've been binge watching)... you already know my favourite, and most accurate, technique for adding images to stamps, but I also like to use the left over part of this 'image sticker' to create a visual space for each stamp, which is visible without even opening the case... You mentioned finding a lack of adhesion with your stamps on the plastic case, and I used to be frustrated by this as well, but now I spritz a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol onto the interior of the case, and give it a good wipe with a clean cloth... it removes the oily residue from the surface of the plastic, and your stamps should stay put! 😊

Hi Erin! I’ve been using magnet material with dies for years and putting them into plastic sleeves the “Jennifer McGuire” way for several years now. What I do is buy 8.5”x11” heavy white cardstock from Hobby Lobby at the 40% off price when on sale and cut the magnet material to fit on the Cardstock as per size of the die set. I am now cutting the Cardstock to fit in the DVD case from SU stamp cases. If you need more than one sheet of magnet material, then I would back a cut piece of cardstock and stick magnet on both sides of the Cardstock for multiple dies. I do like the idea of sticking the magnet down to the case if only one layer of dies is needed. I’ll do that from here on out rather than using cardstock for only one side if dies. The envelope tip is a great one too. Glad to know there are plastic envelopes that will fit in there. I use those flap envelopes for storing ephemera in as well. Learned that from a great organizer Lauren Hinds who goes by Craft Some Joy on YT. She also mentioned you on one of her YT vids a month ago regarding the BEAUTUFUL way that you scrapbook. 😄.

Thanks Erin. I learned a few great tips today. I have been for over 5+ years tried to figure out how to keep dies with stamp sets. Some die packs are bigger than the stamp cases, so I keep them on magnetic sheets in the envelope they come in and store behind the stamp set on my shelves. I also make a label to go one the stamp cover with what die and the product number of the stamp it coordinates with and the stamp set as well. This helps if they get separated. Now Stampin’ up has the same name for the dies and stamp set. Another tip I learned is not a great idea to sick the red rubber stamps with the label directly to the case or leave them on the blocks for extended lengths of time as they are harder to remove, instead I turn the red rubber frame so the paper backing side is face up an put the stamp design side down so you see the image when opening case. I have torn the foam padding after having stored for some time.

You are doing great, Erin, in getting used to Stampin Up products. Love how you share the tips you are learning for yourself. I never thought of an envelope with extra dies that don't fit on a magnetic sheet in the case. I just used a magnetic sheet that I adhered to a piece of cereal box that I cut to the size of the magnetic sheet. I use the sheets that have adhesive on one side, too. That was a great tip.

I like the envelope idea to go in the case. I really love the cling stamps, they last longer and better quality in my opinion. I have had photo polymer stamps break when pulling off because they are soooo sticky, but also after regular use in a few years they won't stick to the block anymore even with washing them. I also don't keep the rubber to put my cling stamps back in, too cumbersome , but the case tells you how many stamps are in the set and so I just count to make sure I have them all when putting away.

Great tips! I never thought to use a clear stamping block to line up the red rubber stamps and their stickers - great idea. This video is very helpful - thank you!
@KatinaMartinez-016 ай бұрын
Also ... pro tip - I trim around my stickers, as close to the image as I can, then pull off ONLY half of the backing paper, put the half that still has the backing paper on the your stamp, line it up, and then press the sticky side down, pull back the other half and take the back off and then press that to your stamp. By doing this you will be able to pull your stamp off the clear block easier. Sometimes if you put the full sticker onto the stamp it is harder to line up, and it will REALLY REALLY cling to the block, or the case and can be really hard to get it to "release" I've had stamps get damanged because the "stick" so well to the block or the case. I always say that you just have kiss the ink pad lightly, you don't have to make out with it... just lightly kiss it!
@CraftyConceptswithErin6 ай бұрын
"you don't have to make out with it" bahahhaaaha 😂 that was hilarious and I am going to use that one day. That is a great tip for the stickers. I am reading lots of comments about them sticking too well and it's funny because those who have not used them were afraid and heard they would not stick well enough. I do like the idea of trimming around the sticker, thanks for sharing 😃

Erin, I save the black and white sheet from the die set as it will fit perfectly over the stamp set or dies to protect them from each other in the stamp case. I actually put my magnet sheet first with the dies, the die cover sheet then set stamps on top. I save the label sheet from the stamp set and set the rubber stamp sheet of stamps on top of the label sheet. Hope this made sense.

Great tips. On the red rubber I also keep the outside part so I know what's missing. Once you put the label on don't leave them on blocks long after using them. I understand it's very difficult to get off if you do. Having said that you may not want the sticky part facing your dies especially if they're in the plastic env. Red rubber does stamp much better

I just saw your video and have two tips if you don’t already know them. One is to take a picture of the dies before you remove them from their original paper and then it cuts down to a 5 x 7 and I inserted into the backside of the stamp case so when I pull it, I can always see what dies are available in that stamp set. The is for the cling rubber stamps. I take the sheet that the cling labels came off of and insert it between the clear plastic case cover and the case and it is a perfect template for the stamps. I hope that makes sense I had pictures, but somehow I can’t get the pictures into the comments.

If you have suggestions on storing embossing folders let us know. And welcome to the Stampin Up family from a hobby demo. Colleen S. From Idaho. Happy Crafting

Thank you for the warm welcome Colleen! I am currently exploring embossing folder storage solutions. For now I have them in a bin and I can flip through them and it seems to be working okay.

Thank you so much for this very informative video. I had no idea about the labels on the ink pads, so now I can see the colours when stacked. Thanks again 😊

That's so funny. I prefer the red rubber. I feel like they stamp better.

I agree, they do stamp very nicely, I think we were all just afraid of what we did not know.

For anyone who might not have a Versamat, the Stampin' Pierce Mat from Stampin' Up is another great option to add some cushion when using photopolymer stamps. It's a lot smaller than the Versamat, so it wouldn't be a substitute for creating scrapbooking layouts. That having been said, it's 6½" x 9½", so it's more than large enough to handle any photopolymer set for stamping. It's only $5, so it's also at a great price point. As an aside, it's called the Stampin' Pierce Mat because back in the day before pierced dies came along, SU sold piercing templates that could be used with a craft pick/pokey tool and the piercing mat to add pierced details to project. Thankfully, they've kept it in their product line ever since because it's such a great tool to use with their photopolymer stamps to get nice stamping results.

@@CraftyConceptswithErin Sure thing!! I'm really hoping SU will bring over the Versamat as they start adding more scrapbooking products to their line. I really regret I didn't buy one when CTMH was still around. I always talked myself out of it since I'm not a scrapbooker.

Thanks for the tips! I have found that my Cricut prefers CTMH or Creative Memories card stock. Also, SU card stock is so thick (as it is intended for card bases) that I use a rotary trimmer with it. The other bladed trimmer still cuts SU card stock, but the blade wears out very quickly if I'm doing a lot of cuts as I do with my scrapbook layouts.

Welcome to Stampin Up. I like your tip to use adhesive back magnet for die storage. I'm a heavy handed stamper also and have to remind myself to tap. Connie Stewart (Simply Simple Stamping) has 2 short videos with helpful Ink pad tips. In both videos she shares an easy way to open the ink pads. In the 7 tip video she mentions Whisper White cardstock which is no longer available and was replaced by Basic White.

Thanks! Lots of helpful information. (And I was one of the ones that said I would not get any cling stamps. The first one I got was a cling stamp because the house looked like mine lol.)

Erin I take the paper off the leftover red rubber and it sticks to the box and then I put my stamps 8th the empty spaces. Clear as mud right!

This is all a great idea. However with cling stamps, once you put the sticker onto the stamp you don’t want that stamp to adhere to the back of the case or protective sheet as over time they are hard to remove and could damage the foam when trying to remove them. I have tried storing my dies with stamps and this has happened to me. With the price of stamps and dies whether bundle or not is not cheap. They are an investment. I simply leave my dies in the pkg they come in and store them in a bin on my shelves behind the coordinating stamp. No more damaged stamps. This damage can and does happen if you leave the cling stamps on the block for a period of time. So best to clean and remove from block when finished using everything.
