I’m strangely impressed, I’m laughing while at the same time feeling so “honored” that they actually put in the effort to sing a song in my language and one that was designed to honor my tribal culture. Thank you Sauti sol and thank you Guys

If we spoke shit English they'd rant. It's only afrikans we get overly excited when a muzungu speaks swahili or any afrikan native language. If we spoke or sang in broken French, German or even English they'd simply look at you like shit and correct you in all manner of ways and roar you on about how terrible we sound and how bad our pronunciation is. It seems when it comes to our own language and a muzungu speaks it, we pretend they sound good when we know they sound very very bad you cant even understand a thing. cause we constantly wanna make them feel better about themselves. You know very well this doesn't hit hard if it was sang by (sauti sol).

Heard these esteemed guys play this live in Minneapolis and they took great pains to introduce it and give all props to the great Sauti Sol. Needless to say the crowd LOVED it. Having never heard of them myself I was so grateful. Thanks to all for what may be one of the prettiest songs I've ever heard 🥰

Except the origin of swahili includes: Portuguese, Arbic, Indian, greek and a bit of bantu. I'm sure when you speak swahili you don't realize just how many foreign languages you used just by constructing a full sentence.
