I just used this today to level a bathroom floor for sheet vinyl. The product is extremely gritty, like it contains silica sand. Don't expect a smooth feather edge and it's only workable for a few minutes before it starts drying and sticking to the trowel. My first application was a pain because I tried to touch up some spots and had divots In the surface that were hard to smooth out. The second application went better because I didn't try to touch up areas after the first few minutes. It works fine for underlayment if slight imperfections aren't going to effect the final result. Also it's hard to sand so don't expect to be able to work out divots. All you can do is work off sharp corners.

Yes, this stuff is no good. Way too dry and sandy, can barely work with it.

can this be used to level osb? dip is about 4 feet wide and a 1/4" deep

That looks a lot smoother than it did for me when filling gaps and nail holes in plywood subfloor. It went on like wet sand and dried very rough. All the instructions and videos I found said this was good for plywood subfloor under self stick vinyl but now that it's dry i don't think it will stick very well. Can I sand it and prime over it? I was expecting something more like wood filler (which maybe I should have used.)

What do you recommend for crack repair up to 2” deep? Could this be used for that?

Yes. Just make sure it's really clean.

Is there a self leveling patch for sheet vinyl over concrete? Thought I was going to remove this sheet vinyl, but the installer apparently used $5000 in glue and $50 sheet vinyl. Small residential area, no room for equipment.

You can use some mortars/patches over vinyl. A fiber enforced thinset works well.

I bought a tub of the premixed. It isn't white like the video, it's kind of orangey-beige, and it's *very* gritty. Like wet sand that hardens. Not at all what I expected from this video. The container says Henry 345 Floor Patch (bought at big box home improvement place), so maybe it's a different product with the same number on it?? At any rate...too gritty, and I don't recommend it.

It was also kind of foamy. Weird.

Exactly. We had the same experience, bought at Lowes and regret it. How is anyone suppose to spread this sticky sandy mess? This worthtless product just turned an easy job into a nightmare. Half tempted to try and remove it before it sets anymore. Why would anyone make a floor leveler that was sandy and gritty and stuck to the tools more than the floor? Stay away if you want a nice smooth and level floor. Perfect it you want a gritty sandy floor.

This takes FOREVER to dry. I follow instructions and put on a 1/4" layer. It's been 5 hours and it's still completely mushy. I checked reviews online and lots of people have the same issues, they are reporting it takes more like 6-8 hours between coats. If it's not dry by tomorrow I'll scoop it all back into the tub and return it. Maybe should have gone for a mix, I don't want to wait all week.

Thanks for that info. I'm thinking of using it to repair a botched job from using Henry 457. I followed the instructions but the dry part of the mix had gotten messed up with the humidity in the air & had already started forming clumps. I wanted to toss it, but friend with me decided to pour it out anyway. Came out like chunky peanutbutter & was harder than rock once it dried. Tried chiseling, hammering, & sanding-- wouldn't work & tore the sandpaper. Had to take an angle grinder to that stuff. So, now I don't trust the stuff I have to mix myself to come out right. I'm willing to wait 8 hours for it to dry if necessary.

Thanks I will use a fan inside the room to help it dry quicker.

I'm hoping it's done drying when the flooring guys show up at 9 tomorrow. It's after 10 pm and I put the stuff down at 6 and it's still not dry and hard; feels just as soft as when I put it down.

So I bought this product and had to KZbin the manufacturer directions because the directions on the container were so small!!! How about some quality control on your packaging. Geeze. I need a magnifying glass

That’s EXACYLY why I’m here. O tried my magnifying glass and still couldn’t read it

This is a terrible product. It's extremely dry and sandy. Forget about getting smooth level surfaces. It also dries almost instantly once applied. Also, you will need a lot more than the package says.
