This is very much an American rifle. Wood and steel, serves a modest purpose for a sensible gun owner. A "Hand it down to your son on a random day" type of deal. This is worthy of being Doc Emmett Brown's gun. "It'll shoot the fleas of a dog's back at 500 yards." Especially when you compare .308 to .45-70 on black powder. All of those cartridges lend themselves to the lever action experience. .223, .308, .243, 6.5 Creedmoor.

The v-max ammo is tested in a bolt action with a 24" barrel. In a 16" auto-loader, it's no wonder you're getting sub 3000 fps velocities! My mini 14 gets ~2900 fps in a 16" barrel.
@NorthwoodsNomad3 жыл бұрын
Very nice package ! I’m glad to see it’s chambered to accommodate 5.56 as well as .223 . As far as the rifle twist , I wish it were at least a 1 in 8” … the AR’ s that I’ve shot and own (ed) throughout my life have had 1 in 9” and 1 in 7” ( ideally I choose the 1 in 7” as these twist rates just stabilize everything from 55 grain on up to 75 /78 grain with excellent accuracy ) but a 1 in 8” is a perfect compromise between the two . But I guess most folks just shoot the lighter stuff anyway with the .223 and that’s probably why Henry went with that 1 in 9” twist rate . Nice looking rifle , always a quality product from Henry ! I love to see this offered in .358 Winchester ( with a pistol grip stock / large loop lever and carbine 18.5” - 20” type barrel , with a laminate wood / All Weather metal finish option ) The ultimate lever action do it all bear , moose , pig , deer thumper !

An all weather version of this gun with a threaded barrel in .260 Remington or 6.5 creedmoor would be sweet. I also prefer the looks of the large loop if they can make a model that has that. Henry has a suggestion box, so if people want to see changes then they need to go write to Henry
@DPIDDY696 жыл бұрын
In my experience the Browning BLR is a more accurate weapon and has more caliber selection. They market this as essentially a more accurate Henry but only delivers 2-4" groups. Mini 14's will usually shoot better than that and yet the mini is detested because of it's accuracy. Interesting nun the less.
