Very nice gun. I had a single shot 30/30 and you can get creative with loading rounds you can't in a lever action.

It's a very nice looking rifle. It would nice if they did the same thing that H&R-NEF did back in the day and that was once you have the rifle, you could send it back to factory to have another barrel fitted to the frame in another rifle or pistol caliber. 44 mag, 357 or 45 LC would be a great offering for this gun. They should have supplied a mount for a scope with it as an added feature.

Skinner peep would be nice. I’ve hunted with H&R through the years. Love the single shot. Made me a better hunter and woodsman. Have used Ruger #1 as well. The Henry sounds great.

A nice rifle. All you would ever need for deer. Shot my deer last year with a .223 and 65 grain Sierra game king. It never took a step. 75 yards. Good luck this fall.

Very beautiful and nice Craftsmanship from Henry, I like them, and 30/30 Winchester caliber, excellent deer hunting setup, ONE SHOT! ONE KILL 🇺🇸👍

I’m definitely considering buying one of these. I do a lot of reloading and I have found that the 30-30 cartridge is a great shooter when using cast bullet loads. I would definitely be putting a scope on this rifle because my eyes are old. After all my years of shooting, I find that a single shot rifle is where it is at for a day on the range or roaming the countryside.

Great video! I too have been holding out for the 308 Long Ranger, but I strongly see the benefit of having this in a single shot for ease and reliability of operation. The price is spot on too with having some extra for a scope. Would be a dedicated hunting and range. I have other Henrys to get my lever action slinging on with

It's hard to beat a 30_30 I have had a Marlin lever for years ,I bought a Henry single shot in 357 toped it of with a 3x9x40 crimson trace seems like a great combo paid a lil high for mine gave 550 for mine ,thanks for posting

Won one of these a few months ago and gave it to a friend. He has yet to shoot it but I really liked the way it felt in my hands. Small thing , it has a plastic trigger guard which actually doesn’t affect the function at all but I still kinda prefer metal of some kind .. aluminum or steel. Good quick review, thanks.

The 30 WCF and 44 WCF have killed more deer than any other calibers. I have killed deer with both myself and the 45 colt.

Single shot guns have flexibility advantages on ammo. Rabbits to elk in that one if you are inclined to maximize it's potential.

H&R use to make a single shot in 30-30 and 22 hornet and 12 gauge all in one for 230 dollars.

Weaver 82, or I found a h&r handi rifle scope base. The Weaver is to long in my opinion. The h&r base worked much better for me.

If gun dealers know there is a recall, why don't they send them back. Why don't the manufacturers recall them from the dealers. One of my local dealers was selling NEF single shot rifles on recall and would not tell customers.

I think most dealers would not sell them if they knew there was a recall , at least not without mentioning it first.

@@guaporeturns9472 you may be right for a recall. Maybe I should have said defective other than safety concerns. But the 35 whelen single shots this guy was selling, had a problem with light hammer strikes when you installed the hammer spur. Causing misfires. Manufacturer said the spur was too heavy and slowed hammer speed. Me , brother, and father had bought one at same time. 2 of the 3 were defective and had to be sent back to a third party repair shop. Mine came back and misfired on 2nd shot. Solution: taller scope rings and don't use hammer spur.
