Thank you to everyone for your kind comments and support. I am still a bit in shock and have needed some time for it to sink in! As for me and my situation, I have been unemployed for quite some time due to discrimination in the workplace and have had a hard time keeping jobs with the deaths in my family the past few years. I did reach out to the Aftermath Foundation. Despite the help they do offer some, they told me they were unable to help me due to how long it’s been since I left. It’s unfortunate because I could really use the help but I’m sure they have their reasons for making decisions. Thanks again y’all. Life is tough for me but your comments and kindness have made a difference. ❤

Wait, if a Scientologist believes that you are responsible for your own behaviour, how can he accuse others if he assaults them? This does not add up in my mind.
@LiterallyLisa111 ай бұрын
There are TONS of examples of these contradictions in Scientology. “The tech” chips away at your intuition that is telling (read: yelling at) you that “THIS DOESN’T MAKE ANY SENSE!” For example, if you question L. Ron Hubbard in your own mind (without sharing with anyone out loud or anything), the next time you’re in at auditing session, you’re going to be asked about any “withholds” (things your aren’t saying) you may have. From there you’ll get into more trouble, just for having been honest. So the takeaway is, never have a critical thought, even if it’s the logical side of your brain telling you the truth, because you’re going to get into more trouble than it’s worth. Also, let’s not forget, more than likely ALL of your friends and family are a part of the organization, your job is most likely tied to the organization, and bringing any of this up could result in you losing everything and everyone you’ve ever known. So you make it make sense, to survive.

Cults don’t know what children are on purpose. There’s a reason cults impose hyper control on human sexuality, and why that control on members benefits leaders who have very explicit reasons for needing to redefine what a child is to a group of followers.

I know there is meant to be a seperation between 'church' and state but there has to be some to hold these groups accountable. I feel as if the damage of being punished and blamed for being sexually abused, then separated from her “family”, what she knew (her family system sounds irredeeming and detractful anyway) was understated here. It is amazing, incredible, rather beyond words, that she can tell her story publicly for the first time with this much and composure and grace, and that she is a functioning adult. Psych and biology are interesting, and the chronic, systemic abuse she endured in so many ways would be enough to render some other souls less productive and capable in life. This hero deserves so much good and reprieve in her life to come.
